This year’s edition pays homage to Mexico’s cultural heritage, honoring tradition while embracing modern artistry.
The Story Behind the Collaboration
For the second consecutive year, Tequila Don Julio and Willy Chavarria unite to celebrate Día de Muertos, one of Mexico’s most cherished traditions.
Known for his distinctive designs that merge Chicano culture with high-fashion sensibilities, Chavarria brings his iconic red rose motif to the limited-edition bottle. The roses symbolize love, resilience, and the timeless beauty of Mexican identity.
This design is more than decoration—it tells a story. Adorned with Mexican iconography dressed in Chavarria’s signature looks, the bottle captures the creative spirit of a holiday that bridges past and present, life and memory.
Expanding Creativity Beyond the Bottle
The partnership goes beyond tequila. Chavarria has also introduced the Willy Chavarria x Tequila Don Julio Cristalino Collection, a jewelry line inspired by the artistry of Tequila Don Julio 70.
Handcrafted in Mexico City, the collection features a necklace, ring, and cuff that incorporate red roses and intertwined serpents, all set in polished white gold with diamond pavé.
Pieces will be auctioned exclusively through Charitybuzz, with proceeds supporting the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) and Plataforma Arte Contemporáneo, two organizations dedicated to empowering Mexican and Hispanic creatives.
Honoring Craftsmanship and Tradition
Each bottle of Tequila Don Julio 70 Añejo Cristalino contains the same premium spirit that revolutionized the tequila category. Crafted in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, the tequila is aged for 18 months in American white oak barrels before being filtered to achieve its signature crystal-clear appearance.
The result is a spirit that marries the depth of an Añejo with the crisp vibrancy of a Blanco, offering smooth notes of vanilla, honey, and toasted oak.
Karen Harris, Senior Vice President of Agave at Diageo North America, describes the release as a reflection of Don Julio González’s legacy: “It is a tequila created Por Amor—out of love for heritage, for craftsmanship, and for Mexico itself.”
A Cultural Movement
This collaboration demonstrates how Tequila Don Julio continues to shape culture by supporting artists and amplifying voices across generations.
For Willy Chavarria, the project is not only about design but also about preserving stories, celebrating roots, and inspiring the next wave of creators.
With this special release, tequila enthusiasts and art lovers alike are invited to toast heritage, innovation, and community.
