The Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel is far more than a five-star address; it is a palace woven into the very fabric of French history. Standing proudly on Place de la Concorde, its neoclassical façade has borne witness to revolutions, royal dramas, and centuries of cultural transformation.

Today, after a meticulous renovation, the Crillon embodies a dual identity: a guardian of France’s aristocratic past and a contemporary masterpiece of design and hospitality. It is not simply a hotel—it is a living monument that redefines the art of Parisian luxury.

How Does Hôtel de Crillon Preserve and Transform Its Legacy?

Located at 10 Place de la Concorde, the Crillon shares its monumental façade with the neighboring Hôtel de la Marine, both crafted in 1758 by Ange-Jacques Gabriel for King Louis XV. The square itself, infamous as the site of Marie Antoinette’s execution, imbues the hotel with a palpable sense of history.

Between 2013 and 2017, a €200 million restoration elevated the palace to a new standard of luxury. Architect Aline Asmar d’Amman led the project, collaborating with designers Tristan Auer, Chahan Minassian, and Cyril Vergniol to harmonize historic salons with contemporary aesthetics. The addition of Karl Lagerfeld’s bespoke Grands Appartements brought the hotel’s design narrative into the realm of legend.

The result is a property that is simultaneously timeless and boldly modern—a curated gallery of French resilience and creativity.

What Defines the Residential Experience at Crillon?

The hotel’s 124 rooms and suites embrace a “Parisian residential style,” with custom furnishings, antiques, and artworks selected to create intimacy rather than spectacle. Details elevate the experience: monogrammed pillows, Rivolta Carmignani linens, and bath amenities from Officine Universelle Buly 1803. Every room includes butler service, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity via WhatsApp or Telegram.

The Duc de Crillon Suite preserves the palace’s private chapel heritage, while the Bernstein Suite honors the famed composer with panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower. Most iconic are Les Grands Appartements, Lagerfeld’s crown jewels of design, where 18th-century boiseries meet Arabescato marble and contemporary minimalism. These suites transform accommodation into cultural immersion.

How Does Crillon Redefine Parisian Dining and Wellbeing?

Dining is as curated as the interiors. At L’Écrin, chef Boris Campanella and sommelier Xavier Thuizat orchestrate a Michelin-starred experience where the wine pairing inspires the menu. In striking contrast, Nonos by Paul Pairet offers French bistro classics with playful informality. The legendary Bar Les Ambassadeurs and the indulgent Jardin d’Hiver reinforce the Crillon as both palace and Parisian gathering place.

Wellbeing is equally transcendent. The subterranean spa and gold-tiled pool by artist Peter Lane offer an immersion into artistry and tranquility. Beauty services by stylist David Lucas, complete with cocktails from Les Ambassadeurs, encapsulate the hotel’s philosophy of integrated, lifestyle-driven luxury.
