US Open 2025: The Priciest Watch Wasn’t on Sinner or Alcaraz

The most expensive watch at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows is valued at $180,000. However, it is not a Rolex or a Richard Mille.

The 2025 US Open concludes today with unforgettable matches and record-breaking performances—but the real mystery wasn’t on the scoreboard. While tennis titans Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner clashed for the championship, another player quietly made a different kind of history.

Neither Alcaraz nor Sinner wore the most expensive timepiece at the tournament. That honor belonged to Andrey Rublev.

It’s obviously far from Rafa Nadal’s $1,000,000 Richard Mille, but it’s still impressive. Rublev’s $180,000 Vanguard Orb sent ripples through both tennis and watch-collecting circles. With its futuristic titanium casing, levitating flying tourbillon, and neon green strap, the Orb is a timepiece, and a statement.

Rublev, the No. 14 seed, has always been known for his firepower on court. But this time, he caught the world’s attention on and off-court with a horological marvel few had ever seen before. The Vanguart Orb represents not only luxury and design excellence but also a secretive aura. It’s a watch that tells time and a story.

Founded in 2017, Vanguart remains something of an enigma in the elite watch world. Led by Axel Leuenberger and Mehmet Koruturk, the brand’s rise has been swift yet discreet. Their Orb model features a groundbreaking orbital oscillating mass that activates in automatic mode—appearing to float freely inside the case like something from science fiction.

Luxury Watches That Lit Up the US Open Stage

While Rublev’s Orb dominated the luxury conversation, the US Open 2025 wasn’t short on dazzling wristwear. Carlos Alcaraz, fresh off his French Open win, donned the Rolex “Tiffany” ref. 126518LN—crafted in 18-karat yellow gold with a turquoise blue dial. Retailing at $39,600, its market value has skyrocketed to around $150,000 due to scarcity and hype.

Jannik Sinner, the current World No. 1, opted for the classic Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in rose gold, a more understated choice. Retail price? Around $41,500. But its market value hovers between $45,000 and $47,000—a subtle yet powerful statement of status and precision.

On the women’s side, Jessica Pegula enchanted spectators with her De Bethune DB28xs Starry Seas, a piece valued at $90,000. Its celestial design mirrored her consistent, star-like presence on the court. Meanwhile, Tommy Paul wore the DB28xs Steel Wheels—also near $90,000—continuing De Bethune’s strong representation at the tournament.

Despite these luxury appearances, none could rival the mechanical mystique or visual drama of Rublev’s Vanguart Orb.

As Chairman Mehmet Koruturk stated:

“The Vanguart Orb is more than a watch; it is a statement of artistry, innovation, and timeless elegance.”

In a tournament defined by fierce competition and high-stakes drama, the true symbol of power may have been ticking quietly on Rublev’s wrist.
