On July 2, 2025, adidas Originals teamed up once again with creative visionary Edison Chen and his brand CLOT to unveil a fresh collaborative line that fuses heritage classics with contemporary design. 

 

This latest drop features footwear, apparel, and accessories that boldly reinterpret traditional sporting aesthetics through a modern cultural lens. Highlighted by a reimagined version of the iconic CLOT Stan Smith Espadrille and a versatile unisex apparel line perfect for club-ready looks, the collection marks a new chapter in the ongoing partnership between adidas Originals and CLOT.

Campaign and Influencer Lineup

The launch campaign showcases an eclectic group of influencers and creatives, including tennis legend Stan Smith, Edison Chen himself as CLOT’s Creative Director, South Korean actress and model Hoyeon, British artist and skateboarder Blondey, acclaimed F1 driver George Russell, and social icon Jashlem. 

 

Set in a country club environment that appears traditional at first glance, the visuals cleverly subvert expectations by blending playful styling and surreal moments, expressing youthful energy and creative rebellion — a fitting reflection of the new collection’s spirit. This fresh interpretation of heritage codes embodies adidas Originals’ commitment to evolving classic styles with bold innovation and CLOT’s signature cultural fusion.

Design Philosophy and Key Features

Edison Chen shares, “From the beginning, I wanted to challenge the conventional Stan Smith design. Incorporating an espadrille sole into such a legendary silhouette opened up exciting creative possibilities that celebrate both tradition and rebellion.”

The new CLOT Stan Smith Espadrille transforms the well-known tennis shoe with an espadrille sole crafted with seasonal craftsmanship and streetwear influences. The white version boasts a pristine deconstructed upper and detailed embroidery, while the black version uses a synthetic jute-inspired material that pushes boundaries while staying true to espadrille aesthetics. Both versions carry subtle adidas Originals and CLOT branding on the heel tab, signaling their exclusive collaboration.

Beyond footwear, the apparel line features crochet cotton vests, striped polos with matching fringed shorts, and a tailored camp shirt with delicate lace embroidery on adidas Originals’ iconic three stripes. The color palette blends forest greens, creams, browns, and soft hints of maroon and gold — evoking a nostalgic varsity vibe while keeping the silhouettes fresh and sporty.

 

This collaboration exemplifies Edison Chen’s vision of bridging East and West, tradition and innovation, through adidas Originals’ rich sporting heritage and contemporary youth culture.
