The Hermès Fall-Winter 2025 collection reached new heights—both literally and creatively—when Nadège Vanhée presented a second chapter of her seasonal vision in Shanghai.

Set against the glittering skyline of the North Bund Bay along the Huangpu River, the show brought the spirit of global sophistication into vivid life.

Floor-to-ceiling shutters opened to reveal the futuristic towers of Shanghai, as if lifting the curtain on a dream of urban elegance.

This wasn’t Hermès’ first attempt at showcasing fashion outside Paris, but it may have been the most ambitious.

The Evolution of “The Second Chapter”

The Hermès Fall-Winter 2025 collection first debuted in Paris earlier this year, where models stomped through a spiraling, soil-covered runway in garments that spoke of strength, resilience, and sleek seduction.

In Shanghai, the collection evolved. The Hermès woman emerged from the soil and stepped onto the bustling pavement of a megacity.

The Hermès Fall-Winter 2025 collection was thus reinterpreted, enriched with eclectic influences and layered styling that told the story of a woman prepared for the world, not just the runway.

Styling a Global Explorer

Practicality met sophistication as the styling echoed real-life urban navigation.

Sweaters were knotted around the waist, bottle holders crafted in fine leather swung from shoulders, and handbags were worn crossbody for agility.

Even the classic Hermès silhouettes were subtly transformed—sleeves pushed up, garments half-unfastened mid-motion, or featuring modular designs that could adjust on the go.

One standout detail in the Hermès Fall-Winter 2025 collection was a dazzling pair of boots that caught and reflected the city lights with each step.

Braiding Heritage and Modernity

Central to the Hermès Fall-Winter 2025 collection was the concept of the braid—both as a physical motif and metaphorical thread.

Drawing from Hermès’ equestrian roots, particularly the intricate plaits seen on horses’ manes, the braid became a design language.

Silk scarves, linings, and textiles featured winding, rope-like embellishments inspired by the Dressage Tressage carré by Virginie Jamin.

Vanhée reflected on the symbolism of braiding—of interweaving cultures, experiences, and traditions in a deliberate, patient process.

Designing for a Borderless World

Speaking previously about her creative process, Vanhée revealed her fascination with the lifestyles of women worldwide.

From Sacramento to Hong Kong, she’s inspired by how contemporary women navigate their environments, balancing culture, identity, and expression.

The Hermès Fall-Winter  2025 collection isn’t just about beauty—it’s about building a wearable language that adapts, survives, and seduces, wherever in the world it’s worn.
