Blending high horology with celestial symbolism, two creative forces, Roger Dubuis and Dr Woo,  reunite for the third chapter in their cosmic saga—Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III.

Through intricate design and mechanical mastery, it continues a story that began in 2021, evolved in 2023 and 2025.

The Signature Style of Dr. Woo

Renowned for his minimalist, single-needle tattoo technique, Dr. Woo brings a refined and contemplative style to the table.

His design language moves away from bold colors and thick lines. Instead, it embraces geometry, monochrome, and subtle symbolism.

His emblematic spider, cryptic codes, and signature spacecraft once again return in this timepiece.

A Journey Through the Cosmos

For this third episode, Dr. Woo and Roger Dubuis traveled 31 million light-years away for inspiration.

Their destination? The Whirlpool Galaxy, also known as Messier 51a. Captured by NASA’s James Webb Telescope in 2023, this spiral galaxy became the conceptual foundation for the new watch.

The clockwise swirl of this galaxy mirrors the rotation of the tourbillon. The iconic star shape of Roger Dubuis blends perfectly with Woo’s galactic themes.

A Message Across the Universe

At the heart of the watch lies a symbol of peace. The spacecraft first introduced in 2021 returns, now floating above the sapphire crystal.

Created through 3D galvanic growth and rose gold metallization, the ship leaves behind a glowing trail of stars.

Look closely and you’ll read a delicate engraving in its wake: “We come in peace.”

To the left, Woo’s legendary spider appears at 10 o’clock, rendered via laser engraving and black ink.

Three golden nebulae shimmer at 9 o’clock, inviting the wearer to step into a black hole of design.

Through the Vortex of Time

From 10 to 11 o’clock, a steel spiral treated with rose gold represents a wormhole. The back of the watch reveals this same structure, filled with black lacquer and surrounded by a dizzying pattern.

Inside beats the RD515 caliber—Roger Dubuis’ flying tourbillon at 7 o’clock. For Dr. Woo’s vision to materialize, the watch’s construction was adapted.

The titanium lower case supports a three-armed upper bridge that holds a galaxy-shaped spiral in stainless steel.

Every part is polished and hand-finished, honoring the Geneva Seal standards. With 72 hours of power reserve and 193 components, each with one of 16 decorative techniques, this timepiece is pure craftsmanship.

A Universe in Motion

At 1 o’clock, a rotating disc reveals a miniature galaxy in motion. Planets, rings, and nebulae in rose gold orbit over a matte black backdrop.

As the watch winds, this display shifts to show new cosmic views throughout the day.

Luxury in Two Tones

Framed in a 42mm case made of 18K rose gold and titanium, the watch combines strength with elegance.

A quick-release bracelet mirrors the same dual-metal composition. Engraved with Dr. Woo’s symbolic language, the bezel and bracelet create a secret dialogue between artist and wearer.
