When it comes to extraordinary tennis players, their skills on the court are matched only by their impeccable taste in watches.

The finals of 2025 Roland Garros, the Grand Slam on clay, have become a showcase not only for athletic excellence but also for luxury watchmaking. At the forefront of this intersection between sport and sophistication stands Rolex — the official timekeeper of all four Grand Slam tournaments and a symbol of timeless elegance.

Since 1978, Rolex has been the official timekeeper of Wimbledon, followed by the Australian Open in 2008, the US Open in 2018, and Roland Garros in 2019. This commitment has cemented Rolex’s presence on the world’s most iconic courts, where precision timing meets luxury design.

In every court, with their sleek analog and digital clocks, Rolex seamlessly blends function with fashion, supporting players as they chase history.

Beyond just tracking time, Rolex’s role has extended to representing excellence through its ambassadors — the tennis stars who embody the brand’s values of precision, endurance, and style

Oyster Perpetual: simple and refined

One such prominent ambassador is Coco Gauff, who claimed victory at the 2025 Roland Garros final, defeating Aryna Sabalenka in a riveting three-set match. While posing with the Suzanne Lenglen Trophy, Gauff wore a Rolex, highlighting her elevated status not just as a champion but as a symbol of refined taste.

Gauff’s partnership with Rolex began in 2019, when she was only 15. Over the years, her relationship with the legendary Swiss watchmaker has grown deeper, culminating in her appearance at the 2023 US Open final, where she proudly displayed her Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 116000.

In 2025, Gauff once again demonstrated her refined taste, this time wearing the Oyster Perpetual at Roland Garros.

The champions option: Cosmograph Daytona

The brand’s influence extends beyond individual athletes; Rolex also adorns the wrists of other rising tennis stars like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, both of whom are Rolex Testimonees — the brand’s chosen ambassadors.

Sinner and Alcaraz have a diverse selection of Rolex watches to suit their styles. The Rolex catalog includes the elegant Cellini, the versatile Sky-Dweller, and the iconic Submariner and GMT Master II.

Last year, Sinner chose the Submariner Date, while Alcaraz opted for a limited edition Daytona featuring a meteorite dial, reflecting his unique taste.

But now Sinner has strapped on an 18k Everose Cosmograph Daytona, with a Cerachrom bezel, a sundust dial with gold indexes and hands, and bright black chronograph counters.

This year at Roland Garros, Alcaraz showcased the latest in Rolex innovation with a yellow gold Cosmograph Daytona featuring a turquoise blue lacquer dial, a monobloc Cerachrom bezel, and meticulous craftsmanship exemplified by calibre 4131.

Released in 2025, this chronograph measures intervals of time with exquisite precision, while also displaying the hours, minutes, and seconds. Its aesthetic finishes include Rolex’s signature Côtes de Genève and a cut-out oscillating weight, highlighting the brand’s dedication to technical mastery and elegant design.

Both players, Sinner and Alcaraz, wear the Cosmograph Daytona with the Oysterflex bracelet, a Rolex innovation for a sporty strap: a super-elastic metal foil overmolded with black high-performance elastomer.
