The Route of the 2025 Mille Miglia

Kicking off in the charming city of Brescia, the 2025 Mille Miglia promises a spectacular “figure-of-eight” route that honors the race’s pre-war traditions.

The race begins with an electrifying chassis punching at the Villaggio 1000 Miglia, located in Brescia, where vintage cars and their owners gather in anticipation.

The starting gun ignites the engines as the vintage fleet embarks on an epic journey through Italy’s iconic landscapes.

The route is a scenic tapestry, weaving through renowned cities such as Desenzano del Garda, Sirmione, Verona, and Bologna.

Unique to this edition is the inclusion of a strategic crossing of Italy’s eastern and western shores, connecting the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coastlines via the historic hills near Empoli.

As the cars race towards the finish line, the course takes racers through a mesmerizing challenge—an uphill segment near Empoli, echoing the race’s daring historical spirit.

Who Can Participate?

The Mille Miglia is an exclusive event, open only to cars that participated in or were manufactured before 1957, preserving its vintage charm and authenticity.

Participation is limited to owners of meticulously preserved or restored classic cars, making it a showcase of automotive history and craftsmanship. Both professional racing enthusiasts and passionate collectors are welcome to take part.

Origins of the Most Beautiful race

Founded in 1927, the Mille Miglia—meaning “One Thousand Miles”—began as a daring race covering approximately 1,600 kilometers from Brescia to Rome and back.

Enzo Ferrari himself entered this contest, leading to storied victories and helping cement Ferrari’s reputation during the 1950s.

The race’s high speeds and glamour attracted legendary drivers such as Stirling Moss, whose 1955 victory in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR remains iconic.

The race’s history is punctuated by tragedy and triumph. Notably, the 1957 race ended in disaster when a Ferrari collided with spectators at high speed, leading to fatalities and prompting Italy to ban public-road racing for decades.

Today, the race lives on in a different guise—as a celebrated regularity rally that respects its historic roots while ensuring safety and sustainability.

The Museum and experiences

In 2004, the Mille Miglia Museum was inaugurated in Sant’Eufemia, near Brescia. This treasure trove of automotive history houses a stunning collection of vintage race cars, memorabilia, and multimedia exhibits that narrate the legendary race’s story.

Visitors can explore the evolution of racing cars, learn about iconic drivers, and experience the glamour and adrenaline of Italy’s most famous race.

Beyond the race itself, Brescia and the surrounding cities offer a wealth of activities to indulge in luxury lifestyle experiences.

From exclusive wine tastings in Verona to gourmet dining in Bologna, the regions’ culinary delights await connoisseurs of fine living.

For those intrigued by automotive culture, local museums and vintage car showcases provide a comprehensive voyage into Italy’s automotive heritage.
