Veuve Clicquot has revealed its much-anticipated vintage, La Grande Dame 2018, a champagne that pays tribute to the enduring legacy of Madame Clicquot, a bold visionary often referred to as “La grande dame de la Champagne.”
This latest edition continues the House’s commitment to excellence, inspired by Madame Clicquot’s timeless motto: “Only one quality, the finest.”
This new vintage is composed predominantly of Pinot Noir—making up 90% of the blend—a grape variety that has long symbolized the Maison’s identity. La Grande Dame 2018 draws on fruit harvested from eight of Veuve Clicquot’s most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards.
The climatic conditions in 2018 were ideal, resulting in a generous crop of fully mature grapes, perfect for producing a wine of great structure, vibrancy, and elegance.
On the nose, La Grande Dame 2018 reveals a refined bouquet of floral and mineral undertones, gently layered with scents of white fruits, honey, almonds, and preserved citrus. The palate follows with remarkable freshness and texture, combining smooth precision with lingering salinity. This vintage not only offers immediate enjoyment but also has outstanding cellaring potential.

La Grande Dame 2018 is now available in limited quantities through select wine merchants and fine restaurants, with a starting retail price of approximately €220.
