Just ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver made headlines by unveiling the newest addition to his growing automotive collection: a jaw-dropping George Russell hypercar, the $2.7 million Mercedes-AMG ONE.

Before heading to the Sunshine State for the sixth race of the F1 calendar, Russell took the AMG ONE for a spin through the scenic roads of Monaco, showing off not just its aesthetics but its track-derived DNA.

Formula 1 Engineering, Road-Legal Form

The George Russell hypercar features a revolutionary powertrain inspired by Mercedes’ championship-winning hybrid era.

At the heart of this beast is the Mercedes-Benz PU106B—a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 hybrid unit, similar to the one used during Mercedes’ era of dominance in Formula 1.

This powerplant delivers 1,049 horsepower, distributed through a hybrid system that includes four electric motors.

The V6 engine itself punches out 566 horsepower, while the electric motors add another 483 horsepower, offering rapid responsiveness and a futuristic driving experience.

Record-Breaking Speed and Design

Beyond its performance on paper, the AMG ONE is a track legend.

Since production began in 2023, it has smashed several lap records, including the Nürburgring, where it became the first production car to break the 6:30 barrier with a 6:29.090 time.

It also reigns supreme at Hockenheimring, another testament to the race-bred engineering behind this machine.

Russell, now in Miami, brings not just his racing talents but a renewed aura of inspiration. As he prepares to race at the Miami International Autodrome, his team remains cautiously optimistic.
