Nestled within a breathtaking lagoon, JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll, a new exclusive retreat in the Maldives, is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Velana International Airport, offering effortless access to a secluded paradise.

With a total of 80 private pool villas, including 47 situated directly over the water, the resort provides an intimate sanctuary with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean. Each villa is designed with expansive terraces and direct access to the crystal-clear lagoon, ensuring an immersive experience in nature’s tranquility.

Architect Cuneyt Bukulmez of Atolye4N spearheaded the design, blending traditional Maldivian influences with contemporary sophistication. The arrival jetty, inspired by the elegant Maakana heron, sets the architectural tone for the property, creating a seamless connection between the resort and its surroundings.

Villas showcase distinctive elements such as kajan roofs, turquoise-hued doors, and serene, neutral-toned interiors, echoing the charm of Maldivian ‘Gedhoru’ homes while maintaining a modern, airy aesthetic.

Exquisite blend of nature, luxury, and innovation

Staying true to JW Marriott’s commitment to sustainability, the resort integrates natural materials such as timber and stone throughout its design. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors invite abundant natural light and panoramic views, while open-air showers and private pools enhance the sense of serenity.

Demonstrating innovation in environmental preservation, JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island has partnered with INVEA and MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab to develop a groundbreaking 30-meter underwater coastal structure. This pioneering project not only reduces wave impact and prevents beach erosion but also promotes marine biodiversity. Guests are encouraged to engage with this initiative, fostering a deeper connection to the resort’s eco-conscious mission.

Culinary excellence is at the heart of the resort, with seven distinct dining destinations catering to a range of global tastes. Veyo presents an international menu crafted with locally sourced ingredients, while Wahoo, an infinity pool bar, offers a selection of refined beverages and gourmet dishes. Athiri, a two-story steakhouse, pairs premium cuts with ocean-inspired architecture for an elevated dining experience.

For those seeking diverse flavors, Nikkei delivers an enticing blend of Peruvian-Japanese cuisine in a vibrant setting. Meanwhile, Riva reinterprets Indian Ocean culinary traditions with a refined approach to fine dining. Emphasizing the farm-to-table concept, Pure showcases dishes enhanced by fresh herbs cultivated in the JW Garden.
