Showcased at New York Fashion Week, the Carolina Herrera Fall Winter 2025/2026 collection is inspired by the “purity” and “fleeting beauty” of the garden in Being There (1979), the favorite film of the brand’s creative director Wes Gordon.

“The atmosphere of the movie is so beautiful, with its stunning autumn and winter gardens. It made me envision a woman walking through Central Park on a crisp fall day, perhaps just after the rain, simply enjoying the moment,” Gordon shared backstage after the show. “There’s something incredibly romantic about that image, and it became the heart of my inspiration for this collection,” he added.

Although Carolina Herrera herself attended the show, accompanied by her family, it was Gordon who orchestrated this collection, as he has since 2018. His designs remain faithful to the brand’s essence, offering a refined balance of elegance, structure, and fluidity.

This season, Gordon focused on “growth,” aiming to evolve the Carolina Herrera woman: “I believe she is stronger, sexier, and more confident than ever before.”

A love letter to autumn

The runway show took place in an industrial-style venue perched atop a skyscraper, with white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of New York City. Adding a touch of delicate contrast, deep purple peonies adorned the floor, enhancing the romantic and ethereal atmosphere.

The soundtrack accompanied the models’ stride, beginning with a slow rendition of Mexican classic music before transitioning into pop and rock staples like Kate Bush’s Cloudbusting and Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams.

Florals, a signature of Carolina Herrera, were omnipresent in the collection, interpreted in multiple ways—woven into the fabric’s pattern, crafted into voluminous embellishments, or adorning garments as golden brooches that added radiance. Some pieces featured intricate beading with gold accents over dark backdrops, elevating their dramatic elegance.

Classic and contemporary

The collection balanced ethereal and structured elements, with flowing gowns in fuchsia, emerald green, and sky blue set against tailored blazers, suits, and capes in pinstriped gray and classic black-and-white.

“I wanted the color palette to be rich and autumnal, so we played with deep reds, navy blues, and forest greens, but also added bursts of electric blue and vivid pink. And because we are Herrera, all these shades remain bold and full of life. Even the darker hues still radiate energy,” Gordon explained.

Shimmering embellishments were another highlight, with garments adorned in sequins and intricate beadwork—pieces that are sure to make a statement on upcoming red carpets and award-season galas.
