Following the grandeur of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Paris Haute Couture Week Spring Summer 2025 has brought together the elite of haute couture, featuring breathtaking collections from some of the most iconic names in fashion, including Chanel, Valentino, and Armani Privé.

Jean Paul Gaultier by Ludovic de Saint Sernin

Ludovic de Saint Sernin, the latest in a series of guest designers invited to reinterpret Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture line—potentially the last of the rotation, according to speculation—delivered a striking vision with his collection, Le Naufrage, which means “shipwreck” in French.

The Brussels-born, Paris-based designer, known for his sensual and provocative aesthetic, approached this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by drawing inspiration from a music video featuring Seal and Mylène Farmer, where the duo drifts lost at sea. This influence translated into fluid, almost ethereal designs that merged seduction with vulnerability, reinforcing de Saint Sernin’s signature approach to couture.

Valentino

Alessandro Michele’s much-anticipated debut couture collection for Valentino took center stage at the historic Palais Brongniart on Wednesday, January 29. The Italian designer, known for his maximalist and deeply romantic vision, crafted a show around the theme of lists—an idea drawn from Umberto Eco, who once described lists as a way to “contain the infinite expanse of existence within a meaningful framework.”

Michele’s concept materialized through 48 meticulously crafted looks, each a testament to the art of haute couture. The collection was an intricate balance of heritage and modernity, reinforcing Valentino’s status as a powerhouse of contemporary elegance.

Giorgio Armani Privé

“Creating is the essence of my existence,” declared Giorgio Armani ahead of his latest Paris Haute Couture Week presentation. This show marked two decades of Armani Privé, the Milanese house’s couture division, which first debuted in January 2005.

The milestone event also introduced Palazzo Armani, an opulent new establishment in Paris’ 8th arrondissement, which will serve as the home of the Privé atelier and creative studios. The collection, aptly titled Lumières, was a dazzling celebration of light, where shimmering crystals, gem-like embellishments, and fluid silhouettes reflected the label’s refined aesthetic.

Chanel

Honoring 110 years of Chanel haute couture, the Parisian fashion house transformed the Grand Palais into an architectural spectacle for its latest runway show. The set, designed by American creative Willo Perron, featured vast, curving ramps that, when viewed from above, resembled both the legendary double-C emblem and an infinity symbol—an homage to Chanel’s enduring legacy as the oldest haute couture house still in existence. This visual representation of “infinite excellence” reinforced Chanel’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, refinement, and innovation in haute couture.

With each collection showcased at Paris Haute Couture Week, the artistry, vision, and technical mastery of the designers continue to define and elevate the fashion world.
