The new Moxy hotel in Wynwood, Miami, opens its doors with a unique concept: a check-in experience that doubles as a bar.

The Moxy hotel offers 120 rooms and a variety of amenities, including daily yoga classes and a pet-friendly policy, making it an attractive destination for both tourists and locals.

Wynwood, Miami’s famous artsy, graffiti-covered neighborhood, is no longer just a place to visit—it’s also a place to stay.

Moxy Miami Wynwood will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, November 20. Though the hotel began welcoming guests in late June, it’s now officially ready for its debut. Hotel manager Chris Thompson explains, “This brand was meant for this neighborhood, meaning that the location, art, and culture here really mesh with our target guest.”

He adds, “It all starts from check-in, where you’re greeted with two welcome cocktails, and things only get livelier from there.”

This marks Moxy’s second hotel in South Florida, following the 2021 opening in South Beach. While the Miami Beach property has more of a resort-style ambiance, the Wynwood location caters to a broader range of guests.

Thompson notes that on a recent day, “On one side of our bar, we had a large bachelorette party, and then, on the other side, we had people mingling from a real estate conference we were hosting.”

The check-in and bar experience on the second floor is filled with funky touches, featuring a shuffleboard table, games like Jenga, nooks for remote workers, plush bar stools, and a neon #MOXYWYNWOOD sign.

As for the art, works by artists such as Lady Pink and Vance DNA can be found throughout the hotel, both inside and outside.

The welcome cocktails include Haku vodka with a yuzu and lavender essence. The bar also offers a range of signature cocktails, on-the-go bites, and a dinner menu featuring arepas, flatbreads, and more.

The hotel has planned DJ performances to enhance the communal space, in addition to offering daily yoga classes in partnership with YO BK, a 24/7 fitness center, and complimentary bikes to explore the neighborhood.

It is also pet-friendly, a feature that was tested during its soft opening in June when the hotel sold out despite the hurricane. Thompson shares, “In June, we opened in the middle of a hurricane and were 100 percent sold out. This was partly because we had so many people relocating and seeking shelter from Fort Myers, including many guests with pets. We waived our pet fee during that time, and it was a bit like Jumanji here with all the pets.”

Since then, the hotel has hosted guests for events like III Points, Taylor Swift concerts, and numerous business travelers.

The rooms range from 211 to 592 square feet and come in five different configurations. Each room pays tribute to Miami, with designs like Graffiti Grove (king room) and La Familia, which features two queen beds and a bunk.

Signature features include Murphy desks, under-bed storage, and plenty of outlets for devices.
