This Norris win puts him just 52 points behind in the championship standings, with six races remaining. The comeback is on.

McLaren’s triumph strengthens Norris’s pursuit of the title, while Verstappen’s second-place finish is vital, as Singapore was one of the toughest tracks left for his car. He maintains a lead equivalent to two race wins.

Improvements are expected for Red Bull in Austin, especially after the 20-second gap Norris built in Marina Bay, a significant margin.

However, Norris made several rookie mistakes while comfortably leading, a bad sign for him moving forward.

It appears the championship could be decided in the final race in Abu Dhabi, setting up a scenario reminiscent of 2021, when Verstappen won over Hamilton with everything against him and in an inferior car. This time, McLaren seems to hold the mechanical advantage.

Carlos Sainz, meanwhile, didn’t have the best start, dropping two places to 12th. However, Ferrari’s smart strategy and his determination saw him climb back to seventh, earning crucial points.

Fernando Alonso held onto his seventh-place start, despite being overtaken by the Ferraris.

He delivered an exceptional race, overtaking Hulkenberg and Pérez and closing the gap to Sainz in the final stages, even as the Spaniard’s tires were wearing out. Alonso’s ability to maximize the AMR24 once again proved his immense value.

The race start was intense, with Norris leading, closely followed by Verstappen and Hamilton. Alonso maintained his seventh position, while Sainz dropped two places, and Pérez found himself in 10th after just two corners.

The Singapore Grand Prix is one of the most iconic races in Formula 1, known for being the sport’s first-ever night race.

Held annually since 2008 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, it has quickly become a fan favorite due to its unique atmosphere, illuminated by thousands of floodlights against the backdrop of Singapore’s skyline.

The street circuit, which spans 5.063 km, features tight corners, challenging turns, and is physically demanding due to the city’s high humidity and heat.

Drivers need to be at peak performance, as the race often lasts close to two hours, making it one of the longest on the F1 calendar.

The inaugural race in 2008 was historic not only for being the first night race but also for the controversial “Crashgate” incident involving Renault, where Nelson Piquet Jr. was instructed to crash intentionally to benefit teammate Fernando Alonso. Since then, the Singapore GP has seen dramatic races, with notable victories from drivers like Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, and Nico Rosberg.

Over the years, the Singapore Grand Prix has solidified its place as one of the sport’s most glamorous and challenging events, blending intense racing with a spectacular nighttime setting that continues to captivate fans and drivers alike.
