Ritz-Carlton sets sail for Asia: luxury cruises in the Pacific starting in 2025

Hotel company announces that the Luminara ship will join its fleet, offering innovative ways to experience superyachts and explore the vibrant cultures of Asia.

Ritz-Carlton is preparing to cross the Pacific Ocean on a luxury cruise. The American hotel giant announced that the Luminara, a 242-meter transatlantic liner, will sail through the Asia-Pacific region from late next year.

 

From December 2025 to May 2026, these 10 new voyages will allow travelers to explore 10 vibrant countries, including Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and Thailand.

“As luxury travelers seek personalized and unforgettable experiences around the world, we are delighted to introduce voyages in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Jim Murren, President and CEO of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, in a statement.

 

“These new itineraries exemplify our continued commitment to raising the bar for luxury cruising, offering innovative ways to experience our superyachts and explore vibrant local cultures around the world.”

Grand voyages

The 10 cruises will last between 10 and 15 nights, departing from Tokyo, Hong Kong or Singapore. The ship will call at 28 major ports, such as Ha Long Bay in Vietnam or Puerto Princesa in the Philippines, as well as bustling cities like Seoul, Osaka and Bangkok. Each adventure will allow guests to discover historical sites, indulge in authentic local cuisine and find other hidden gems.

 

To whet your appetite, the 14-night voyage from Singapore to Hong Kong includes a New Year’s Eve celebration on board, a night in the Thai capital, Bangkok, a tour of the Cu Chi tunnels on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and a relaxing stay in the picturesque Ha Long Bay.

On the 10 itineraries, guests can embark on group excursions, pre-designed private adventures or personalized expeditions. For example, they can go kitesurfing in the Philippines, savor delicious street food in Thailand or go on an exciting rafting trip in Malaysia.

 

Luxury inside

All passengers will enjoy the personalized service for which Ritz-Carlton is famous. The Luminara will offer 226 spacious suites for up to 452 guests, world-class restaurants, an extensive wine collection, an exclusive Ritz-Carlton spa and a marina with direct access to the sea. The ship also boasts one of the highest staff-to-space ratios at sea, according to Ritz-Carlton.

 

The Luminara will be the third yacht to join the Ritz-Carlton fleet. The 190-meter Evrima set sail in October 2022, while the 241-meter Ilma is due to launch this September. The Luminara is scheduled to set sail in July 2025, making a round trip to Rome before sailing through the Mediterranean and Asia-Pacific region.
