Colombia on Wynwood’s Runway by Wanitta & Colombiamoda will be an iconic open-air fashion event showcasing the talent of Colombian designers and the quality of their products.

This event is organized by the ethical fashion brand Wanitta, in collaboration with BLESS and the Stage modeling agency, and with the support of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and Colombiamoda.

Two main streets in Wynwood, Miami, will be closed for this open-air fashion show, which will host over 300 attendees.

The event will take place near the Colombian ethical fashion store Wanitta, which has contributed to the export of over 80,000 USD worth of Colombian-made products in just six months.

This project is carried out in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and Inexmoda, to increase exports and position Colombian brands in international markets.

On June 1, Wynwood, Miami’s art district, will witness a historic event: for the first time, its streets will transform into an open-air runway for a fashion show by the Colombian brand Wanitta and 10 Colombian designers.

This show, titled Colombia on Wynwood’s Runway, is part of Colombia’s Fashion Week in the United States, promoting the internationalization of Colombian fashion.

Camilo Agudelo, co-founder of Wanitta and event organizer, mentions that the runway will be set up on two main streets in Wynwood, with open spaces for the public to enjoy the show.

A 40-meter mural by Alejandro Paucar will serve as the backdrop for the runway, where 10 models will present over 40 looks, showcasing the talent from Medellín and Colombia.

Since opening in Miami, Wanitta has attracted over 24,000 visitors, becoming a showcase for around 30 Colombian designers who offer a textile proposal based on responsible consumption.

Wanitta’s internationalization strategy has enabled the company to form an alliance with the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and Inexmoda, to position Colombian brands and highlight Medellín as a tourist destination.

José Alejandro González Jaramillo, Secretary of Tourism and Entertainment of Medellín, states that such events are vital to promoting the city as a tourist destination with an attractive offer in art, music, and fashion.

Medellín aims to establish itself as a responsible, sustainable, and competitive tourist destination.

Manuela Gómez, head of internationalization at Inexmoda, asserts that their strategy aims for Colombian brands to reflect their DNA and value proposition in other countries, leveraging the creativity and quality of their products.
