Aryna Sabalenka is more than the world’s number one tennis player —she’s a style icon, a creative force, and a symbol of the new era where sports and luxury fashion intersect.

And now, Gucci officially welcomed Sabalenka as its newest global ambassador, joining an elite roster that includes Jannik Sinner and international stars like BTS’s Jin and Miley Cyrus.

This partnership marks a significant moment in the intersection of sports and luxury, as Sabalenka brings her unmatched intensity and unique sense of style to one of the world’s most iconic fashion houses.

A New Era of Athletic Luxury

Sabalenka’s rise to the top of women’s tennis has been marked by power, precision, and a relentless competitive spirit. But it’s her off-court presence—bold, unapologetic, and effortlessly stylish—that has caught the attention of the fashion world.

Gucci’s decision to partner with Sabalenka is a strategic move, aligning the brand with an athlete who embodies strength, authenticity, and a fearless approach to self-expression.

In the campaign video announcing the partnership, Sabalenka is seen rallying on the court, racquet in hand, dressed in a flowing beige and dark brown silk twill gown from Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

The look is completed with gold GG logo earrings and a feather-trimmed poncho, blending athletic prowess with high fashion. “Welcome to the Gucci family, Aryna,” the brand captioned, signaling a new chapter for both the player and the house.

Expect to see her influence in Gucci’s retail activations, pop-ups, and perhaps even a capsule collection inspired by her bold, unapologetic style.

Material Good: A Partnership Rooted in Creativity

Beyond Gucci, Sabalenka has also signed on as the first-ever ambassador for Material Good, a New York-based boutique jeweler known for its custom, handcrafted pieces. The partnership began after Sabalenka “stumbled into” the SoHo storefront during her 2025 US Open run.

She wore three custom Material Good pieces throughout the tournament, all inspired by her eighth appearance in Queens, and will continue to collaborate on new designs for both on- and off-court wear.

“Jewelry is a way that I express myself, both on and off the court, and this partnership felt like a natural next step in my style evolution,” Sabalenka shared. “Working with Material Good allows me to celebrate my creativity in a new way, completing my look through jewelry that feels intentional and modern”.

For the 2026 Australian Open, Sabalenka debuted a custom jewelry set designed in collaboration with Material Good. The collection includes a necklace and earrings inspired by Melbourne’s coastal locale, and she’s been wearing these pieces throughout the tournament.

Material Good has already released “The Aryna Studs” and “The Aryna Jackets” in her honor, and more limited-edition pieces are expected in 2026.

The Luxury Fashion Takeover of Tennis

Sabalenka’s partnerships with Gucci and Material Good are part of a broader trend: luxury fashion’s growing presence in tennis. In recent years, brands like Burberry, Dior, Bottega Veneta, and Louis Vuitton have all signed high-profile athletes, turning the courts into a new runway.

Burberry’s collaboration with Jack Draper, Dior’s partnership with Zheng Qinwen, Carlos Alcaraz with Louis Vuitton, and Bottega Veneta’s alliance with Lorenzo Musetti are just a few examples of how the sport is becoming a style arena.

This shift reflects a cultural change in how athletes, especially women, occupy cultural spaces. Influence is no longer just about titles—it’s about presence, personal narrative, and the conscious decision of how to present oneself. Sabalenka, with her powerful game and bold fashion choices, is at the forefront of this movement.

Aryna Sabalenka: The Athlete and the Icon

Sabalenka’s journey to the top has been anything but conventional. Born in Belarus, she built her career through technical evolution, emotional strength, and a deep understanding of her game. With four Grand Slam titles—two Australian Opens (2023, 2024) and two US Opens (2024, 2025)—she has cemented her status as one of the most dominant players in women’s tennis.

Off the court, Sabalenka is known for her charisma, humor, and willingness to push boundaries. Whether she’s dancing with her team, joking with fans, or making a viral selfie with Roger Federer, she brings a refreshing authenticity to the sport. Her new role as a Gucci ambassador is a natural extension of this personality, allowing her to merge her athletic identity with her passion for fashion.

“Fashion is a beautiful world, where you can express yourself fully and there is no judgment,” Sabalenka said. “I’m so into Gucci right now… I think we can do really cool stuff for on court”.
