Pinta Miami 2025 unfolds from 4 to 7 December at The Hangar in Coconut Grove, reaffirming its role as Miami Art Week’s dedicated platform for Latin American creation. The fair brings together curated sections, institutional partners and site specific projects in a format that feels intimate yet strategically ambitious.

Rather than chase sheer volume, Pinta Miami 2025 focuses on how stories travel. Under global curator Irene Gelfman, with RADAR led by Isabella Lenzi and NEXT curated by Juan Canela, the fair reads like a compact atlas of Ibero American voices in real time.

How Does Pinta Miami 2025 Redefine the Latin American Art Fair?

The core bet of Pinta Miami 2025 is clarity. It concentrates on Latin American and Ibero American art during a week when many fairs compete for attention, which gives its narrative a sharp edge.

Three main axes keep the experience legible. The Main Section gathers established galleries with strong regional programs. RADAR highlights artists whose practices revolve around material research, such as Guatemalan artist Sandra Monterroso and her work Mujer ofrendando caracol e hilo in natural dyed fibers. NEXT showcases younger galleries and experimental formats that test how a fair can function as a laboratory rather than a showroom.

Why Does The Hangar Turn Pinta Miami 2025 into a Living Archive?

The venue is not neutral. The Hangar sits on the historic Dinner Key site, once a naval air station and later a Pan American seaplane base that connected Miami with the Caribbean and South America.

Today its twenty thousand square feet hold booths, the Sculpture Garden and performance programs, yet the aviation past is still legible in the structure. Curated by Irene Gelfman, the Sculpture Garden focuses on Priscila Schott and other artists who work with geometry and perception, while a related pop up at the JW Marriott Miami extends the dialogue into the city’s everyday circulation.

Which Curatorial Threads Define Pinta Miami 2025 Now?

Materiality, ecology and diplomacy are the fair’s quiet through lines. Ana Teresa Barboza’s special project Threaded Stories reframes textile practice as a way to map landscapes and ecosystems, while Monterroso’s pieces in RADAR activate ancestral knowledge through dyed fibers and ritual forms.

The program FORO, coordinated by Gelfman, adds an explicit think tank layer with panels such as “Art Without Borders: A transatlantic dialogue on culture, innovation and development”, where ambassadors and cultural leaders discuss policy, soft power and market infrastructure. The long standing partnership with EFG and its Latin America Art Award underscores how acquisitions and prizes can shift careers, as seen with 2024 winner Leila Tschopp.

Outside the meeting rooms, the human anchor is legendary gallerist Bernice Steinbaum, honored through the Women of Vision Breakfast and present with a booth that includes found object assemblages by Thomas Deininger. Together they fold decades of Miami art history into the fair’s present.

Pinta Miami 2025 proves that a focused fair can punch above its size. By activating a historic seaplane hangar, it turns a former gateway between the Americas into a cultural port devoted to Latin American art. The result is a setting where collectors, curators and artists can slow down, trace material stories and think about how this scene positions itself globally. In a saturated week, The Hangar feels less like another stop and more like the reference point.
