Omega unveiled the fourth-generation Seamaster Planet Ocean, marking a decisive evolution in one of its most iconic collections.

Launched exactly twenty years after the original Planet Ocean debuted in 2005, the new models combine technical mastery with refined aesthetics, reaffirming Omega’s position as a leader in professional dive watches.

With slimmer proportions, advanced engineering, and a return to signature design codes, the collection bridges heritage and modernity, feeling both timeless and forward-looking.

A Redesigned Architecture

The new Planet Ocean introduces a two-part case construction with sharper lines and improved ergonomics. Measuring 42 mm, the case is more wearable while retaining its robust underwater performance.

Integrated bracelets and refined strap options enhance comfort, while the iconic orange ceramic bezel—a hallmark of the Planet Ocean since 2005—returns with renewed vibrancy. This architectural overhaul ensures that the watch remains versatile, equally suited for professional divers and everyday collectors.

The slimmer profile is a direct response to collectors’ feedback, who admired the Planet Ocean’s capabilities but sought greater elegance on the wrist. Omega’s engineers achieved this balance without compromising durability, proving once again the brand’s ability to merge form and function.

Technical Advancements

At the heart of the fourth-generation Planet Ocean are seven new Master Chronometer models, each certified to the highest standards of precision and durability. The watches maintain their impressive 600-meter water resistance, a defining feature of the Planet Ocean line, while incorporating innovations inspired by Omega’s Ultra Deep technology.

The movement, visible through a sapphire caseback, showcases Omega’s Co-Axial escapement and anti-magnetic properties, ensuring reliability even in extreme conditions. Despite slimmer dimensions, the models sacrifice none of their deep-diving capabilities, proving that performance and wearability can coexist.

A Heritage of Innovation

Since its debut, the Planet Ocean has embodied Omega’s maritime legacy. The collection sits within the broader Seamaster family, which dates back to 1948 and has long been associated with professional diving and cinematic fame through James Bond. The fourth generation honors this heritage while embracing modern refinements, ensuring that the Planet Ocean remains a cornerstone of Omega’s identity.

The return of the orange bezel is more than a design choice—it is a nod to the watch that defined a generation of divers and collectors. By reintroducing this bold color, Omega reinforces the Planet Ocean’s distinct personality while maintaining its technical credibility.
