Drawing inspiration from Greek words symbolizing life, water, islands, and birds, AVA MediterrAegean captures movement, vitality, and a deep sense of connection. 

With destinations already flourishing in Winter Park and Miami, the brand unites French refinement with Mediterranean warmth, presenting a menu that honors the Cycladic islands through dishes that celebrate the purity of land and sea while weaving together tradition and modern flair.

Beyond the main dining space, the brand extends its ethos into a private sanctuary known as AVA MM—an exclusive enclave curated to deepen community through intimate programming, bespoke experiences, and sophisticated cultural gatherings.

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, AVA MediterrAegean brings its signature energy—celebratory, soulful, and effortlessly coastal—to Coconut Grove, a neighborhood whose character resonates with the spirit of the Mediterranean.

A New Mediterranean Icon

Rather than existing solely as a restaurant, the venue is envisioned as an escapist, multi-sensory world, where elevated dining merges seamlessly with an atmosphere charged with life. 

Rooted in Greek symbolism and designed to evoke beauty, joy, and the freedom of open horizons, the concept invites guests into an environment that is both contemporary and deeply human.

Central to the philosophy is the Greek ideal of PAREA—the cherished experience of friends gathering to share stories, ideas, and emotion. This guiding principle pulses through every aspect of AVA, shaping a place where warm hospitality, expressive flavors, and dynamic ambiance come together to create meaningful, unforgettable moments.

From Cycladic Inspiration to Coconut Grove

The culinary approach honors both the traditional and contemporary flavors of the Mediterranean and Cycladic regions, emphasizing vibrant ingredients, thoughtful techniques, and the holistic food culture of these coastal landscapes. Every plate is crafted from the freshest elements, revealing the aromas of the earth and sea—exotic spices, aromatic herbs, citrus, olive oil, rosewater, orange zest, dried fruits, nuts, seasonal produce, and exceptional proteins—each contributing to a colorful, balanced, and soulful dining experience.

Concealed beneath AVA’s grand staircase lies MM, an ultra-private members-only haven. Guided by Chef Michaël Michaelidis, the space transports guests into an intimate Japanese-inspired culinary and cocktail journey. 

 

Distinct from the Mediterranean narrative above, MM unfolds within a 41-seat speakeasy setting infused with French joie de vivre, shimmering Art Deco details, and contemporary Japanese aesthetics. Designed as a sensorial retreat, it offers an atmosphere crafted for reflection, indulgence, and total spiritual replenishment.
