Bodegas Faustino, legacy and taste

The recent recognition of Bodegas Faustino by the Global Wine Capitals Network reflects this evolution.

Awarded the Best Of Wine Tourism International 2026, the estate in Oyón (Álava) stands as a model of sustainability-driven design and emotional storytelling.

“El Legado de Bodegas Faustino” emerged from a collaboration between the Martínez Zabala family and Foster+Partners, studio led by Pritzker laureate Lord Norman Foster.

The project reimagines the winery’s identity not as a backdrop to production, but as a cultural destination in its own right.

The visitor center rises from the vineyards with quiet confidence. Built from locally sourced wood and tones that echo the surrounding hills, the structure blends into the land instead of dominating it.

Light enters softly through a vaulted, column-free interior, creating volume without heaviness.

Casas del Bosque: Where Ocean Winds Shape the Vine

In Chile’s Casablanca Valley, Casas del Bosque stands near the Pacific’s cool influence.

The estate has been repeatedly named among the world’s best wineries to visit, and among the top five in Chile.

Here, wine experiences unfold outdoors as much as at the table. Gardens, organic orchards, a contemplative Virgin garden, and serene rest areas create a rhythm of exploration and pause.

Guests encounter nature not as scenery, but as character—geese wandering near ponds, flora shifting by season, distant hills framing every path.

Three distinct restaurants translate terroir into flavor. Every moment is deliberate, quiet, and grounded.

Sterling Vineyards: Napa’s Hilltop Icon

In California, Sterling Vineyards blends history with celebration.

The aerial gondola, still the only one of its kind in the wine world, sets the tone: arrival is an ascent.

Holiday hilltop tastings pair reserve Cabernets with seasonal small plates.

Ornament-making workshops bring a sense of ceremony and warmth. Architecture inspired by Mykonos reinforces clarity, lightness, and Mediterranean ease.

Ventozelo and Doña Paula: Landscapes of Presence

In Portugal’s Douro Valley, Ventozelo operates like a lived-in estate instead of a hotel.

Guests are invited to observe daily rhythms, taste wines at their source, and walk trails where fauna move freely.

Argentina’s Doña Paula offers immersive programs like Lake Camp and full-day vineyard experiences paired with cooking classes using garden produce.

Here, terroir is not described; it is demonstrated.
