In a move that has captivated both the tech and real estate worlds, Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder, has sold his opulent Seattle mansion for a record-breaking $63 million. 

 

This sale marks a significant chapter in Bezos’s life, coinciding with his relocation to Miami with Lauren Sánchez. The couple’s new residence in Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek Island, often dubbed the “Billionaire Bunker,” is valued at an astounding $237 million, underscoring their commitment to their new Floridian lifestyle.

From Seattle's Shores to Miami's Luxury

Bezos’s Seattle estate, located in the prestigious Hunts Point area, was acquired in 2019 for $37.5 million. 

 

The 9,240-square-foot property boasts three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a plethora of luxurious amenities, including a rooftop terrace, a walk-in closet, and a glass walkway connecting the main house to a two-story guesthouse. The estate’s private dock, extending over 300 feet along Lake Washington, adds to its exclusivity and allure.

The decision to sell came after Bezos and Sánchez relocated to Miami in 2023, seeking proximity to family and aligning with the growing operations of Bezos’s aerospace company, Blue Origin, in Cape Canaveral. The move also offers significant tax advantages, with reports suggesting potential savings of over $600 million due to Florida’s favorable tax policies.

A Glimpse into Miami's "Billionaire Bunker"

Indian Creek Island, the couple’s new home, is renowned for its exclusivity, with only 40 residences nestled within its 300-acre expanse. The island has previously been home to high-profile figures such as Tom Brady and Ivanka Trump.

Bezos and Sánchez have invested heavily in the area, acquiring three properties totaling $237 million. The most recent addition, purchased in 2024 for $90 million, spans over 12,000 square feet and features six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The couple plans to demolish the other two properties to create a singular, expansive estate that reflects their luxurious lifestyle.
