Ignacio González Castro’s vision is clear: to make America Business Forum “the world’s largest business summit” and to establish Miami as the epicenter of a global movement that transcends traditional leadership gatherings.

“This is not an event, it is a movement,” he declared at the opening ceremony of ABF 2025 in Miami, emphasizing the forum’s unique approach to storytelling and personal narrative over technical conferences.

But, who is Ignacio González Castro? He is a 34-year-old Uruguayan entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of the America Business Forum (ABF). Born in Montevideo, González Castro studied Business Administration at ORT University and later completed an exchange program at Babson College in Boston, a renowned global incubator for entrepreneurs.

His early exposure to the American entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to create a platform that would redefine how success and failure are shared and celebrated.

The America Business Forum: A Decade of Evolution

The America Business Forum was born in 2015, starting as a modest gathering in a hangar at Carrasco Airport in Uruguay. González Castro’s goal was to create a space where leaders from business, politics, sports, and entertainment could share their personal journeys—both triumphs and failures—with authenticity and impact.

By 2018, ABF had moved to Punta del Este, where it refined its format: short interviews, cinematic production, and a focus on the human story behind each leader.

The forum quickly became a regional phenomenon, attracting thousands of attendees and high-profile speakers. During the pandemic, González Castro adapted the model to television with “El Legado,” a series that brought leaders together in iconic Uruguayan venues, further solidifying ABF’s reputation as a platform for transformative dialogue.

The Move to Miami: A Strategic Leap

The 2025 edition of ABF marks a historic shift. For the first time, the forum is held in Miami, a city González Castro describes as “the vibrant heart of international business and culture.”

The Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat, hosted the event on November 5–6, 2025, under the banner “In 2025, The World Meets in America.”

This move is not just geographical but symbolic. Miami’s position as a global crossroads aligns with ABF’s ambition to become the world’s largest business summit.

The event attracted over 40,000 leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators, with speakers including Presidents Donald Trump and Javier Milei; María Corina Machado (2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner), Lionel Messi, Rafael Nadal, and Jeff Bezos.

ABF 2025: Sponsorships and Global Impact

The Miami edition of ABF was made possible by significant investment and strategic partnerships. The total production budget reached $15 million, with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) as the largest contributor.

PIF, the world’s third-largest sovereign wealth fund, manages over $1.15 trillion in assets and is known for its global diversification strategy, including stakes in Uber and ownership of Newcastle United Football Club.

Other key sponsors included the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom at Florida International University, City National Bank of Florida, and American Airlines. These partnerships underscore ABF’s commitment to accessibility and innovation, with ticket prices starting at $100 and an AI-powered app offering real-time translation in over 40 languages.

The ABF Experience: More Than a Summit

ABF 2025 is designed to be immersive and transformative. The event’s format, inspired by international galas like the Oscars and Grammys, features dynamic interviews, major announcements, and networking opportunities.

González Castro’s approach is to humanize leadership, focusing on the personal narratives that drive global change.

“Power means nothing if it doesn’t speak to people,” he says, highlighting the forum’s mission to democratize access to the world’s most influential voices. ABF’s success lies in its ability to blend business, entertainment, and personal storytelling, creating a unique space for inspiration and action.
