From high-end dining to exclusive merchandise, the US Open has become a festival where culture and luxury meet athletic competition.

The real sensation of recent editions is the Honey Deuce, a cocktail that has transcended its role as a beverage.

Crafted by Nick Mautone in 2006, it pairs Grey Goose vodka with lemonade and Chambord raspberry liqueur.

The presentation is unmistakable: three honeydew melon balls mimicking tennis balls floating elegantly in the glass. This visual touch transformed the drink into an Instagram-ready icon.

A Glass with History

Printed on the back are names of past champions, linking each sip with the tournament’s legacy.

Its popularity skyrocketed after Serena Williams shared her enjoyment on social media, creating a ripple effect among fans and celebrities.

Today, courtside images often capture stars with a Honey Deuce in hand.

Record-Breaking Sales

The numbers highlight its dominance. In 2024, more than 556,000 Honey Deuce cocktails were sold at $23 each, generating nearly $13 million.

A year earlier, 450,000 units were served, producing close to $10 million. The drink’s revenue rivals, and in some cases surpasses, the prize money awarded to champions.

With singles winners now earning $5 million each, the Honey Deuce stands as a financial pillar of the tournament.

A Rival Emerges: Watermelon Slice

Yet 2025 introduces a new contender. In collaboration with IHG Hotels, the US Open unveiled the Watermelon Slice.

This premium cocktail features champagne, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, and watermelon juice, garnished with a juicy wedge.

At $39, it offers sophistication but carries a significantly higher price tag.

Despite its novelty, it faces the challenge of dethroning the beloved Honey Deuce, a drink deeply entrenched in fan culture.

Beyond Refreshment

The Honey Deuce represents summer, spectacle, and the blending of tradition with modern tastes.

Its enduring success proves that experiences define events as much as the sport itself.

Every sip reinforces the connection between tennis and lifestyle, transforming the US Open into a cultural touchstone.
