In a moment that redefined polo and family legacy, Adolfo Cambiaso and his daughter Mia made history by winning the prestigious British Open Polo Championship with their team La Dolfina Scone.

Held at the iconic Cowdray Park Polo Club in Midhurst, England, this remarkable victory marked a new chapter for the legendary Cambiaso family and the world of high-goal polo.

The final match, an electrifying face-off against the French team Kazak, ended with a narrow 9-8 win for La Dolfina Scone.

Adolfo Cambiaso, widely regarded as the greatest polo player of all time, secured his tenth British Open title—extending his record as the most decorated Argentine in the tournament’s history. However, it was his 22-year-old daughter Mia who stole the spotlight.

The Most Valuable Player? Mia

Mia Cambiaso, in her British Open debut, was named Most Valuable Player, becoming the first Argentine woman and only the third woman ever to lift the trophy, following in the footsteps of Nina Clarkin (2003) and Kayley Smith (2023). Her performance was as historic as it was dazzling, showcasing skill, composure, and determination under immense pressure.

Together, Mia and Adolfo Cambiaso became the first father-daughter duo to win the British Open—an achievement that resonated far beyond the boundaries of the sport. Sharing the field with teammates Paco de Narváez and English player Hugo Taylor, the victory was both a professional milestone and a deeply personal triumph.

Despite an injury to his right hand that forced him to leave the field in the final minutes, Adolfo’s leadership was instrumental throughout the tournament. After the match, he shared his emotions on social media: “Another dream fulfilled in my career… Winning the Gold Cup in England with my daughter. Crazy.”

Cambiaso: A family Legacy

Mia Cambiaso, the daughter of Adolfo and former model María Vázquez, has grown up surrounded by horses, polo mallets, and elite competition. Though long immersed in the sport, it’s only in recent years that she has taken to the professional stage, rapidly proving she’s a force to be reckoned with.

“Playing with her is different from playing with Poroto,” Adolfo said, referencing his son and frequent teammate. “I wanted to give myself the chance to play with Mía and I was able to do it. She was the most anxious, so I tried to reassure her.”

The victory was sealed with raw emotion—Adolfo, visibly overwhelmed, knelt on the field before embracing Mia and his wife, a moment that captured the heart of the polo world.

Adding to the Cambiaso family’s accolades, Mia’s mare, DS Altamira, was honored with the Best Playing Pony award—another nod to the refined horsemanship and attention to detail that defines this elite sporting dynasty.

This win isn’t just a milestone in Mia Cambiaso’s blossoming career—it’s a testament to heritage, passion, and the timeless allure of polo. The Cambiasos continue to elevate the sport with grace and excellence, making this a defining moment not only for polo but for the entire luxury lifestyle sphere.
