A Family Story Rooted in Craft and Culture
Founded by the Venezuelan father-son duo Manuel and Jesus Brazon, Caracas Bakery officially opened its doors in 2019 in Doral at 7884 NW 52nd Street. Jesus, a former product designer educated at Marymount College in NYC, teamed up with his father Manuel, a former teacher turned self-taught baker, to bring high-quality bread and pastries to South Florida.
The duo’s passion for baking began in 2014, sharing homemade sourdough with friends and family. That passion now fuels a thriving bakery known for its artisanal bread, viennoiseries, and a breakfast menu that has people lining up every morning.
More Than Just Bread – A Menu to Remember
Caracas Bakery is far more than a neighborhood bakery—it’s a breakfast destination. Signature items include:
Cachito de Jamón: A buttery croissant-style pastry filled with savory ham, loved by locals— (and apparently, David Beckham).
Pan con Tomate: Toasted sourdough topped with tomato, garlic confit olive oil, and Maldon salt.
Salmon Toast: A fresh bite with cream cheese, capers, cucumbers, chives, and dill.
Frittata: A hearty plate with seasonal veggies, bacon, goat cheese, and a side of fresh greens.
Turkey Club: Oven-roasted turkey layered with thick-cut bacon, frisée lettuce, tomato, and garlic aioli.
This thoughtfully crafted menu is available not only in Doral but also at Caracas Bakery’s other locations in MiMo (on Biscayne) and Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.
James Beard Award Nominations
In 2023 and 2024, Caracas Bakery received consecutive James Beard Award nominations in the Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker category, spotlighting the talent and dedication of Manuel and Jesus Brazon.
This prestigious recognition celebrates culinary excellence and contributions to the community, placing Caracas Bakery on the national stage.
A Celebrity Stamp of Approval
What really brought Caracas Bakery into the media spotlight was the surprise visit from David Beckham, last June, who was casually enjoying breakfast when spotted by Venezuelan journalist Vicky Van.
The spontaneous encounter—shared on Instagram—added to the bakery’s already growing reputation as an “It Place” in Biscayne.
