Brad Pitt has once again surprised the design world by acquiring one of the most unusual architectural gems: the Xasteros House, often referred to as the “UFO house.”

Originally built in 1969 by Greek architect Nikolaos Xasteros and located in Girona, Spain, this fiberglass prefab home measures 45 square meters and features wooden flooring.

Now relocated to his estate in California, the structure is empty inside—allowing for unlimited creative uses, such as a high-end yoga studio, an artist’s retreat, or a personalized showroom, all upgraded with luxe amenities to match Pitt’s refined standards.

A Lifelong Passion for Architecture

Brad Pitt’s passion for architecture is not a recent hobby. In the early 2000s, he immersed himself in architectural design by studying computer-aided design under the mentorship of Frank Gehry.

He later co-founded the Make It Right Foundation, which focused on building environmentally friendly, flood-resistant homes in New Orleans. Pitt once stated that architecture is a “giant piece of art you can live in,” emphasizing his belief that beautifully designed spaces can elevate the human experience. This philosophy fuels every project he touches.

Pitt’s personal home in the Hollywood Hills was redesigned in collaboration with the innovative architecture firm GRAFT. The result is a modernist retreat complete with open-plan living, mica stone walls, and furniture customized to fit the natural contours of the house.

The integration of luxe amenities throughout—including concealed service walls, warm lighting design, and tranquil interior flow—demonstrates how his architectural taste balances simplicity with high-end living.

In addition to contemporary structures, Pitt appreciates classic architecture. One of his most notable acquisitions is the D.L. James House, also known as “Seaward,” located in the Carmel Highlands.

Designed in 1918 by Charles Greene, this Mediterranean-style villa carved into the cliffs of California features tiled interiors and panoramic ocean views. The home’s old-world craftsmanship combined with modern luxe amenities speaks to Pitt’s ability to merge legacy with luxury.

Beyond Celebrity Collecting: A Mission with Meaning

Brad Pitt’s involvement in architecture goes far deeper than merely collecting extraordinary houses. Through his philanthropic efforts with Make It Right, he has helped build more than 150 sustainable homes. His design choices reflect a conscious effort to contribute positively to urban development. For Pitt, architecture is not just about structures—it’s about shaping environments that foster well-being, creativity, and sustainable lifestyles, all infused with luxe amenities tailored for modern living.

Brad Pitt stands out not only as a style icon and film star but as a serious figure in the world of architecture. His influence has brought global attention to innovative housing solutions and design-forward thinking.

By investing in futuristic homes like the Xasteros UFO and restoring historic masterpieces, he is helping redefine what luxury and sustainability can look like when paired with genuine artistic vision and luxe amenities.
