To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bulgari Roma, Bulgari unveils two stunning new iterations of one of its most enduring icons: the Bulgari Bulgari

Launched in 1975 as a limited gift for elite clients, the original watch—conceived by Gianni Bulgari—combined Roman-inspired architecture with bold minimalism. What began as a bespoke tribute has now evolved into a legend of luxury watchmaking.

Now, five decades later, Bulgari honors that heritage with two refined 38mm anniversary models, each featuring rare marble dials, solid gold cases, and modern Swiss mechanics.

Marble Meets Gold: The Anniversary Editions

The centerpiece of this release is the Bulgari Bulgari 50th Anniversary model (Ref. 104112). Encased in 18k yellow gold, the 38mm case is just 8.75mm thick and elegantly water-resistant to 50 meters. The bezel revives the original “BVLGARI ROMA” engraving—a nod to ancient Roman coinage and the brand’s signature design language. A special 50th Anniversary engraving graces the exhibition caseback, completing the tribute.

Its dial, carved from Verde Alpi green marble, exudes natural elegance. Devoid of branding, the dial is minimalist and serene, featuring only golden baton indices, subtle Arabic numerals at 6 and 12, and slender hands to track hours, minutes, and seconds.

Limited to 150 pieces, this model combines tactile luxury with historical significance—an heirloom for connoisseurs of horology and Roman culture alike.

A Blu-Toned Alternative: The Marble Dial Edition

For those seeking a more contemporary expression, Bulgari also releases the Bulgari Bulgari Marble Dial (Ref. 104113) in 18k rose gold. It features the familiar double-logo bezel, omitting the anniversary engraving but retaining the elegant proportions and clean dial design.

The dial is crafted from Blu Incanto marble, pairing perfectly with the rose gold case. Like its sibling, the dial remains logo-free, relying on material, proportion, and texture to express its identity.

Both timepieces are powered by Bulgari’s BVL 191 Solotempo automatic movement, featuring ceramic ball bearings, stop-seconds function, and a 42-hour power reserve. The movement beats at a crisp 28,800 vibrations per hour and is visible through the sapphire caseback.

Luxe Details that Define Modern Bulgari

Each anniversary watch is paired with a hand-stitched alligator leather strap—green for the yellow gold model, blue for the rose gold—secured with a gold pin buckle. The finishing touches are subtle but deliberate, underscoring Bulgari’s ability to blend artisan craftsmanship with architectural beauty.

In a market filled with noise, these watches speak softly but profoundly, channeling the elegance of Rome, the purity of stone, and the precision of Swiss engineering.
