With the global release of F1 The Movie just around the corner in June 2025, Tommy Hilfiger accelerates its presence in the world of motorsport and pop culture by launching the APXGP Collection—a limited-edition fashion capsule inspired by the fictional racing team featured in the film. The result is a high-octane collaboration where style, luxury, and adrenaline collide.

From the racetrack to the runway

Tommy Hilfiger’s long-standing love affair with motorsport began not on a design board, but at the fences of Watkins Glen, where a young Hilfiger watched Formula 1 cars scream past. That early fascination evolved into decades of motorsport-inspired design, long before “motorcore” was a thing. With the APXGP Collection, Hilfiger channels that history through a new lens: big-budget cinema and contemporary streetwear.

The collection is released alongside F1: The Movie, a major production by Apple Original Films, distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie premieres internationally on June 25, and lands in North American theaters (including IMAX) on June 27. In the film, Idris stars as Joshua Pearce, leading the fictional APXGP team alongside Brad Pitt’s Sonny Hayes. The brand’s role as official style sponsor blurs fiction with fashion.

Damson Idris: a driving force onscreen and off

Damson Idris is no stranger to making an entrance. At the 2025 Met Gala, he stunned by arriving in a custom APXGP race car, stepping out in a sleek white driver’s suit before transforming into a crimson tuxedo co-designed with Hilfiger. That same sense of impact anchors his presence in the APXGP campaign.

The capsule distills racing iconography into everyday wear. Moto-inspired graphics reimagine the mechanic shirt; a vegan leather varsity jacket brings a touch of retro muscle; tailored Japanese denim balances raw edge and elegance. A merino knit polo adds subtle texture, while the showpiece—a red quilted racing jacket modeled after Idris’ film costume—connects the runway to the storyline.

This isn’t nostalgia—it’s now. The silhouettes are clean, the fabrics dynamic, and the styling made for motion.

F1 Style, Global Launch, and Cultural Momentum

The timing couldn’t be sharper. With F1 The Movie set to release internationally on June 25 and in North America on June 27—including in IMAX theaters—Tommy Hilfiger captures the moment by launching the APXGP Collection globally on June 3. Available through Tommy Hilfiger stores, online platforms, and selected wholesale partners, the line is already generating buzz among racing fans and fashion insiders alike.

Beyond aesthetics, the collection speaks to the rising influence of Formula 1 on global fashion. By merging iconic racing elements with wearable luxury, Hilfiger cements his place at the intersection of cinematic storytelling and next-gen style. Luxe details—from reinforced collars to tactile textures—ensure the luxe amenities resonate with a discerning audience.
