Longines commemorates a century of global horological mastery with the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925, a watch that unites tradition and innovation.

Its latest campaign, featuring actor and global ambassador Henry Cavill, centers around the profound question that transcends borders and languages: “What time is it there?”

This simple phrase becomes the emotional core of a timepiece crafted for connection, precision, and modern elegance.

From Ottoman Innovations to Greenwich Precision

Longines has long stood at the forefront of timekeeping, particularly for travelers crossing continents and time zones.

As early as 1908, the brand developed “Turkish Watches” for the Ottoman Empire, which could display two time zones—Eastern and Western—simultaneously.

But it wasn’t until 1925 that Longines introduced its first dual time zone wristwatch.

This innovative model was named “Zulu Time,” referencing the “Z” maritime signal flag representing UTC+0, the baseline for global timekeeping.

The 2025 Milestone: A Tribute in Steel and Rose Gold

A century later, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 brings that same spirit of innovation into a contemporary framework.

The 39-mm stainless steel case is matched with a bidirectional bezel featuring a circular-brushed insert capped with luxurious 18K rose gold.

The 24-hour scale enables wearers to track three time zones, a rare capability that enhances the watch’s functionality for modern explorers.

The rose-gold tones echo the copper meridian strip embedded at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich.

Technical Mastery Meets Visual Brilliance

The matte black dial offers bold contrast with its rose-gold indexes and hands, treated with Super-LumiNova® for excellent readability under any lighting.

Below the 6 o’clock position, the subtle engraving of “1925 – 2025” elegantly reminds us of the watch’s centennial roots.

Inside the Heart: Engineering Excellence

At the core of the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 is the L844.4 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement built for high performance.

This movement features a silicon balance spring and components ten times more magnetic-resistant than the ISO 764 requirement.

Evolution of a Collection

While the 1925 edition celebrates Longines’ heritage, the Spirit Zulu Time line also evolves with new models.

Upcoming releases include 39-mm and 42-mm stainless steel versions with ceramic bezels split into day/night zones.

Like their commemorative sibling, they feature sleek black dials and refined rose-gold accents.

Together, they form a cohesive yet versatile family of GMT watches suited for different tastes and wrist sizes.

Connecting Across Time Zones with Henry Cavill

The new campaign starring Henry Cavill is more than a visual showcase—it’s a story of connection.

As Cavill travels through cities and airports, his Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 becomes a symbol of emotional continuity.

Time, in this narrative, is more than hours and minutes. It is the shared heartbeat between people separated by oceans but connected by love, work, and purpose.

For Cavill, this watch is about presence—about knowing where his loved ones are in the world and feeling close, even from afar.
