“On the Wings of Hermès” soars into Miami with a spellbinding spectacle

This spring, the Maison brings its acclaimed performance, On the Wings of Hermès, to The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in the Coconut Grove district.

Hermès is ready to take flight in Miami with a unique artistic experience. Originally debuting in Paris in March 2022, this enchanting showcase has already traveled through cities like Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, and Shanghai, earning admiration along the way.

On the Wings of Hermès is not a traditional stage production—it’s a dreamlike fusion of film, puppetry, dance, and music, brought to life through a creative collaboration with Belgian artists Jaco Van Dormael and Michèle Anne De Mey, along with the Astragales dance company. Inspired by the myth of Pegasus, the story unfolds in seven captivating chapters performed on miniature sets, then projected onto large screens for an immersive cinematic effect.

Diane Mahady, Hermès Americas president and CEO, shared her excitement about the project arriving in South Florida: “It’s a joy to bring On the Wings of Hermès to Miami as the next stop in its global journey. This performance celebrates imaginative storytelling, meticulous craftsmanship, and artistic freedom. In partnership with Astragales, we are confident that our guests will be delighted by this spellbinding production.”

A myth takes flight

Set in a dimly lit, film studio-like venue, the performance takes attendees on a poetic adventure through seven whimsical vignettes, each centered on Pegasus. A press release from the brand describes the show as “a fusion of dance, object theater, sound, and cinema,” where dreamlike figures and iconic Hermès objects come to life in delicately choreographed scenes.

Handbags pirouette in a comedic opera, gloves drift in romantic harmony, and characters are swept skyward by an invisible breeze—all masterfully filmed live and displayed on a giant screen, amplifying the visual wonder.

The production is an elegant blend of theatrical illusion and modern storytelling. The creative minds behind On the Wings of Hermès, Van Dormael and De Mey, designed a world where fantasy and craftsmanship meet—showcasing Hermès’ dedication to elevating artistry in all its forms.

A cinematic ballet of bags

Though this marks a stylistic departure from the fashion house’s usual expressions, the show maintains the brand’s trademark sophistication and allure. On the Wings of Hermès runs from April 18 through April 27, with daily showtimes at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. Attendance is complimentary, and reservations can be made through Hermès’ official website.
