What Makes the Encounters Sector Stand Out?

Curated by Alexie Glass-Kantor, the Encounters sector is a space dedicated to monumental and site-specific installations. The 2025 theme, As the World Turns, explores four key pillars: cultural resilience, material subversion, digital-physical intersections, and cyclical existence. This section features 14 original works created specifically for the fair.

A standout piece is Monster Chetwynd’s Lanternfly Ballet, presented at Pacific Place. This piece combines sculpture and performance, offering a cinematic metamorphosis that will captivate audiences with its unique fusion of art and theater. Visitors will find themselves immersed in an awe-inspiring blend of creativity and innovation.
