As we look ahead to the 2025 season, the series continues to break barriers, empowering young women to chase their dreams in Formula 3, Formula 2, and ultimately, Formula 1.
What is the F1 Academy?
The F1 Academy is a single-seater racing championship exclusively for female drivers, designed to bridge the gap between karting and higher-tier motorsport categories. Established in 2023, the series provides a structured pathway for aspiring talents, combining rigorous technical training, physical conditioning, and mental preparation.
With strong backing from Formula 1 and the leadership of Managing Director Susie Wolff, the F1 Academy has emerged as the premier platform for women in motorsport, filling the void left by the discontinuation of the W Series in 2022.

The primary goal of the F1 Academy is to maximize opportunities for young women in a traditionally male-dominated sport. By offering access to professional racing teams, state-of-the-art facilities, and extensive track time, the series equips drivers with the skills and experience needed to excel.
Game-changing expansion
Competitors race in Tatuus T421 chassis equipped with 165-horsepower engines supplied by Autotecnica, running on Pirelli tires. The performance level is comparable to Formula 4, ensuring a competitive and challenging environment.
Since its launch in 2023, F1 Academy has featured 15 drivers divided among five teams, each fielding three single-seaters. The championship consists of seven race weekends, each including three races, totaling 21 races in a season.
Additionally, drivers participate in 15 official test days to refine their skills. Some race weekends coincide with Formula 1 events, further integrating female racers into the global motorsport scene.
Rising stars of motorsport
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, F1 Academy is expanding its global presence, with China making its debut on the calendar as the season opener. The series will then return to Jeddah and Miami, both of which hosted races in 2024. Another major addition is Montreal’s legendary Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, which will host Round 4.
One of favorite driver for this season is the french Doriane Pin, junior driver for Mercedes AMG, who got the first winner of the F1 Academy season 2024 in her debut in Jeddah.

Following this, the competition moves to the challenging dunes of Zandvoort and the dynamic street circuit of Singapore for Rounds 5 and 6. The season will reach its dramatic conclusion on the iconic Las Vegas Strip, marking the first time an all-female single-seater series competes on the world-famous circuit.
The 2025 season will consist of 14 races spread across seven rounds, ensuring that drivers gain substantial racing experience.
