Merging the house’s signature wit with a refined cultural awareness, Adrian Appiolaza reimagined Moschino’s Fall/Winter 2025–26 collection rebellious essence for today’s world.

The show’s dramatic conclusion—with black confetti raining down on the audience—acted as both a festive moment and a call to action, reinforcing the brand’s ability to merge humor with thought-provoking themes.

A Tribute to Moschino’s Legacy

Inspired by Franco Moschino’s most iconic creations from the ’80s and ’90s, Appiolaza reworked the house’s familiar motifs through a contemporary lens.

Smiley faces, ironic slogans, and religious iconography reappeared, now woven into pieces that balanced deconstruction with meticulous craftsmanship.

Dubbed “All Work and All Play”, the collection featured raw-edged tailoring, sculptural volumes, and an eclectic mix of fabrics, reshaping Moschino’s playful aesthetic into something more layered and dynamic.

Moschino’s signature whimsy remained at the forefront, with exaggerated proportions and unconventional details defining the collection. Standout pieces included:

  • Unfinished tailoring – Blazers and suits with exposed stitching and oversized mock sewing needles, evoking the image of garments frozen in the process of creation.

  • Wind-blown couture – Dresses sculpted to appear as if caught mid-motion, adding an element of dynamism and unpredictability.

  • Patchwork revival – A fusion of past Moschino Fall/Winter prints and motifs, seamlessly reimagined into modern silhouettes.

  • Cheeky accessories – Handbags shaped like oversized cookie packages, proving that even the most ordinary objects could be transformed into high fashion.

A Message Beyond Fashion

Beyond aesthetics, sustainability and activism played a defining role in the collection’s message.

The final look—a minimalist oversized T-shirt dress emblazoned with an image of Earth and the phrase “MOSCHINO SOS”—delivered a powerful statement on environmental urgency.

Accessories resembling trash bags reinforced the brand’s critique of consumer culture, paying homage to Franco Moschino’s past satirical work.

The Dawn of a New Moschino Era

With Moschino Fall/Winter 2025–26, Appiolaza proved that the house’s rebellious DNA remains intact.

By seamlessly blending satire, nostalgia, and social consciousness, he positioned Moschino as both a beacon of joy and a force for critical conversation.

In an industry often divided between spectacle and activism, Moschino demonstrated that fashion could be both—without losing its soul.

The legacy continues

Adrian Appiolaza is the current creative director of the Italian fashion house Moschino.

Born in Argentina, he initially pursued graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires rather than formal fashion studies.

With extensive industry experience, Appiolaza built an impressive career working for luxury powerhouses such as Alexander McQueen, JW Anderson, and Loewe—where he spent a significant part of his journey in London.

His diverse background has shaped his innovative approach to fashion, making him the perfect leader to usher Moschino into a bold new era.
