Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari SF-25: High-Speed Maranello Debut

The Scuderia Ferrari HP single-seater, the SF-25, unveiled its striking new livery during the F1 75 Live event. Today, at the Maranello track, the SF-25 is set to reveal its raw power, reaching speeds of over 200 kilometers per hour in its first shakedown.

“We belong to Racing” – these words celebrated Ferrari’s rich racing legacy and made echo among the 15,000 spectators at London’s O2 Arena during the F1 75 Live show. The presentation featured stunning visuals of the brand’s iconic cars and the timeless words of Enzo Ferrari.

 

Team Principal Fred Vasseur, alongside drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, unveiled the SF-25’s new livery, marking a pivotal moment in Ferrari’s Formula 1 journey. 

 

While the London event focused on the car’s aesthetic transformation, Scuderia Ferrari HP simultaneously released images of the SF-25, hinting at its technical advancements.

 

Today, the SF-25 will take to the Fiorano track , the private circuit at Maranello, for a closed-door shakedown, reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h before heading to Bahrain for the pre-season test session from February 26-28.

The SF-25: A New Era of Innovation

As Ferrari’s 71st Formula 1 car and the fourth in the second generation of ground-effect cars introduced in 2022, the SF-25 represents a bold leap forward. This entirely new model incorporates cutting-edge technical solutions, aiming to maximize performance and development potential. 

 

Loic Serra, Technical Director Chassis, emphasized the team’s dedication: “We have worked hard, changing 99% of the car, evolving its architecture to maximize performance. The front pull rod suspension is only the most obvious of the many significant changes. We can expect the coming season to be very close and results to be decided by thousandths of a second.”

Lewis Hamilton, who recently joined Scuderia Ferrari, shared his enthusiasm: “My first few weeks have been absolutely incredible and I’ve seen first-hand the passion and dedication of the whole team, so today’s unveiling of my first Scuderia car is really exciting.” 

A Bold New Livery

The SF-25’s livery is a masterful blend of brand’s past, present, and future. The 2025 Racing Red, in a darker matte shade, pays homage to the brand’s storied history, while a bold, angled white band symbolizes dynamism and forward-thinking. 

 

The contrast between red and white reflects Ferrari’s iconic identity and its commitment to evolving style. The glossy finish on the SF-25 contrasts with the matte finish of the 499 Hypercar, competing in the World Endurance Championship, highlighting the shared DNA of Maranello’s racing machines.

 

The all-red rims and white numbers, rendered in the official Ferrari Sans font, complete the car’s striking appearance.
