The development of the 111 West 57th St consists of two interconnected structures: the iconic Steinway Hall, once home to the prestigious Steinway & Sons piano company, and a newly constructed 1,428-foot tower designed by SHoP Architects

With construction now fully completed, the interior design—crafted by Studio Sofield—has been officially unveiled by JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group.

A Striking Addition to the Manhattan Skyline

Situated on the prestigious Billionaires’ Row, 111 West 57th St holds the distinction of being the world’s slimmest skyscraper and the second-tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere.

Rising 91 stories, this remarkable structure reshapes the New York City skyline with its daring yet graceful silhouette.

Boasting an extraordinary 24:1 height-to-width ratio. Its presence is a tribute to innovation, redefining urban luxury with its distinctive feather-like form.

Preserving History While Embracing Modernity

Originally built in 1925 by Warren & Wetmore—the same firm behind Grand Central Terminal—Steinway Hall has undergone a meticulous transformation.

The historic building now features luminous residences and premium amenity spaces while preserving its original charm.

The restoration process, conducted in collaboration with the Landmarks Preservation Commission of New York, carefully revitalized the building’s neoclassical rotunda and Indiana limestone façade.

To further honor the grandeur of Manhattan’s golden age of skyscrapers, 111 West 57th St incorporates extensive use of terra-cotta on its exterior.

The tower’s glazed panels create a stunning visual effect, with 22 sculpted contours adorned with bronze filigree, enhancing its intricate design.

A design rooted in New York’s Architectural Heritage

“111 West 57th St is a skyscraper built for the future while maintaining a strong connection to New York City’s rich architectural legacy,” said Dan Getman, Principal at SHoP Architects.

“Its design was inspired by the interplay of light and shadow, evident in its feathered setbacks and the way the sun reflects off its terracotta curves and textured bronze accents. This structure is undeniably unique yet immediately recognizable as part of the city’s fabric.”

Luxurious residences and unparalleled amenities

The development features a total of 60 exclusive residences—14 housed within the historic Steinway Hall and 46 spanning full-floor and duplex layouts in the tower.

The interiors honor the vision of Warren & Wetmore, incorporating grand lobbies, timeless residential spaces, and a carefully curated selection of art and antiques.

Residents of 111 West 57th St enjoy an exceptional suite of amenities, including a reimagined version of the legendary King Cole Bar.

Also an 82-foot swimming pool, a private landscaped terrace, a padel court, and a host of premium in-house services.

Every detail of this landmark skyscraper reflects an unmatched level of sophistication, making it one of the most coveted addresses in New York City.
