Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, the world’s No. 1 ranked player and on the verge of winning the Australian Open for the second year in a row, could also be considered the champion of tennis elegance, as he wears Gucci duffle bags and Rolex watches on the court.

The 23-year-old has been on a meteoric and steady rise, starting last year by winning the Australian Open and then being crowned champion at the US Open in August.

Now, he could win the Australian Open for the second year in a row when the final is played on Sunday 26 at Melbourne Park’s Rod Laver Arena.

In addition to these two Grand Slams, he was also a key part of the Italian Davis Cup team that won the 2023 and 2024 titles. To date, he has won 18 ATP titles with earnings of $37,000,000 (prize money only, not including sponsorship).

During his time on the court, Sinner carries Gucci duffle bags as a global ambassador for the Italian brand. The bags were designed in collaboration with Head, another of the Italian tennis player’s sponsors.

At the end of each match, Sinner puts a Rolex Submariner Date on his wrist to show off during on-court interviews and later at press conferences.

On the verge of his second Australian Open, Sinner has become a crowd favorite.

To reach next Sunday’s final, Sinner defeated Australian Tristan Schoolkate, American Marcos Giron, Danish Holger Rune, Australian Alex de Miñaur and Ben Shelton in the semifinals.

Tough semifinal

He defeated Shelton 7-6(2), 6-2, 6-2 in an intense two-hour and 35-minute match that featured a lot of power from both players. The win is his 20th straight on the circuit.

“I felt he didn’t serve at his best today. The percentage wasn’t where he wanted it to be. I think we both returned better than we served. The first sets are very important. I’m very happy with how I handled the situation today,” said Sinner.

In the final, he will meet Germany’s Alexander Zverev, who won the semifinals after Novak Djokovic retired in the first set. Nole claimed to have torn a muscle in his leg.

Zverev has played Sinner 6 times and has beaten him 4 times. The last time in Cincinnati was in 2024, the Italian won.

The top seed has a 100% record in major tournament finals, as evidenced by his Australian Open and US Open trophies last year.
