Studio NOD is renowned for its ability to seamlessly blend organic forms with sustainable architectural practices, creating spaces that not only serve a functional purpose but also establish a deep connection with nature.

Inspired by the natural world, Trillium Awakening‘s design takes its cues from the delicate forms of a petal, with its fluid geometry shaping a space that feels both organic and harmonious.

The project, which is intended to be replicated in various regional locations, prioritizes sustainability while offering a fresh perspective on contemporary hospitality design.

The design is anchored by three primary elements that converge around a central vertical communication core, allowing for a smooth flow between spaces while maintaining a connection with the surrounding environment. At the heart of the concept is the use of a reflective water surface that creates the illusion of floating structures.

The harmony of nature and design

This water element not only enhances the beauty of the design but also fosters a sense of tranquility and immersion in nature. The main entry to the project is marked by a gravel pathway, bordered by native vegetation, inviting visitors to slow down and engage with the landscape before entering the structure. Subtle, indirect lighting adds warmth to the outdoor space, accentuating the serenity and natural beauty of the setting.

As visitors approach the building, a series of suspended concrete stepping stones guide them over the water mirror, leading them into a covered transitional space that connects the outdoors with the interior. The design emphasizes contemplation, with every detail encouraging a slow, mindful interaction with the surroundings.

Once inside, the space continues to prioritize a seamless relationship between architecture and nature. A grand staircase, enclosed by a bamboo dome, ascends to the master bedroom, allowing natural light to pour through and creating a sense of openness and connection to the environment. The bamboo dome is not only a structural element but also an aesthetic feature that highlights the organic qualities of the design.

Sustainability meets art

The interior spaces are designed with both comfort and sustainability in mind. The master and secondary bedrooms offer expansive views of the jungle, enhancing the sense of tranquility and immersion in nature.

These rooms are designed to blend luxury with respect for the environment, ensuring that every aspect of the experience reflects a commitment to sustainability. The social areas, including a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and bar area, are strategically oriented toward the jungle, creating an open, flowing space that connects the building with its natural surroundings.

The use of bamboo columns, concrete slabs, and regional materials such as plaster and stone ensures both durability and a harmonious integration with the environment. This holistic approach to design not only prioritizes comfort and functionality but also offers a profound connection to the natural world, making Trillium Awakening a remarkable example of sustainable luxury in architecture.
