Haute Horlogerie brands are increasingly blurring the line between elegant, casual, and sporty pieces. The so-called “sporty elegant” design has been around for decades, but it has become more popular.  That was demonstrated at the sixth edition  LVMH Watch Week, in New York (Jan 21-22).

Pieces from TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith and Louis Vuitton showed off this trend. These pieces combine materials such as stainless steel, gold or platinum with exquisite guilloché decorations, practical or eye-catching functions, and rubber straps.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph features a guilloché dial with a gradient effect, ranging from nearly black at the edges to a deep purple in the center. The guilloché decoration adds texture to the piece, creating a three-dimensional effect that is further enhanced by the reflection of light.

In addition to the chronograph counters, it is equipped with a date function at 6 o’clock. The timepiece is powered by the automatic movement caliber TH 20-’00, ensuring reliable performance.

The case is crafted from steel, complemented by a premium leather strap.

The Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton is a remarkable mechanical timepiece that features an El Primero 3600SK automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve. The timepiece features a stainless steel bracelet and case, with a dial either a blue or black color scheme. In this model, the dial is skeletonized showing a clear view of the caliber at the front of the watch.

This skeleton version showcased at LVMH Watch Week features an interchangeable strap system, with a second strap made of rubber.

Its 42mm diameter case is made of King Gold, Titanium or Frosted Carbon. These precious and high-tech metals contrast with the rubber strap, which gives it that sporty yet avant-garde touch.

There are several versions presented by Louis Vuitton at LVMH Watch Week. But the Louis Vuitton Tambour Taiko Spin Time Air Tourbillon is the most complex, as well as the most attractive.

The hours are represented by cubes, two of which rotate every 60 minutes: the hour that begins and the hour that has just ended. In addition, the tourbillon is at the center of the dial.

The case is made of white gold and the strap of leather.
