Haute Horlogerie keeps time at the Australian Open quarterfinals

There are only 8 men and 8 women left in the main draw of the Australian Open, some of whom, like Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, are ambassadors for brands such as Rolex and Hublot

Everything is in place for the final stages of the Australian Open 2025, which will culminate on January 25 and 26. These final stages will be played in the main stadiums at Melbourne Park and some of the players will wear Haute Horlogerie timepieces from Rolex, Hublot and Jaeger-LeCoultre.

 

The men’s quarterfinal pairings are:  Tommy Paul against Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton against Lorenzo Sonego, and Jannik Sinner against Alex de Miñaur. And the most anticipated match: Carlos Alcaraz vs. Novak Djokovic.

Among the women, the matches will be:  Coco Gauff versus Paula Badosa, Madison Keys against Elina Svitolina, Iga Swiatek versus Emma Navarro and Aryna Sabalenka against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

The famous Swiss brand is not only the official timekeeper of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, it is also the most visible watch on the court through the top ten men’s and women’s players.

 

In these Australian Open quarterfinals, Coco Gauff, Ben Shelton, Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner wear Rolex watches.

 

Carlos Alcaraz wears Daytona models, some of them limited editions like the one with the meteorite dial. Jannik Sinner prefers the Submariner Date.

Novak Djokovic and Hublot have a partnership that has produced several Big Bang models.

 

The latest is the Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic, made with recycled materials from Head rackets and Lacoste polo shirts worn by the Serbian tennis player in 2023, when he won a record 24 Grand Slam tournaments.

 

For this model, Hublot developed a composite made up of 25 rackets and 32 dark blue and light blue Lacoste polo shirts.

 

This Big Bang Unico  is a limited edition of 100 pieces, with details such as Novak’s logo on the seconds hand and the oscillating weight, a yellow second push-piece, and is presented in an oak box, made with wood from sustainable forests.

Jaeger-LeCoultre, a brand more closely associated with polo, is now also present in the world of tennis with the Australian Alex de Miñaur.

 

Currently ranked 8th in the ATP world, de Miñaur will face Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.

 

During his matches at the Australian Open, the young tennis player wears a Reverso Tribute Chronograph model in stainless steel, a classic and elegant design with Art Deco details.
