This weekend, Milan Fashion Week Men’s unfolded in the fashion epicenter of Italy, albeit with a lighter schedule.

Major names like Gucci and Fendi opted to present co-ed collections during the women’s fashion week next month, while JW Anderson chose to sit this season out.

Nonetheless, the week has delivered enough excitement to keep spirits high. A standout moment came from Prada, where co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons unveiled an innovative collection.

This season, their designs celebrated uninhibited, instinctive dressing with elements like faux fur, pajama ensembles, and cowboy boots—a testament to what Miuccia Prada described as “a move toward humanity.”

Dunhill

The British heritage brand Dunhill hosted its show at the prestigious Società del Giardino, a private Milanese members’ club set in a grand palazzo.

The setting exuded sophistication, with tables adorned with champagne and cucumber sandwiches, encapsulating Simon Holloway’s vision of reviving traditional British dress codes.

Holloway, the creative director, emphasized “English classicism, casual elegance, and consistently appropriate wardrobing,” themes that resonated throughout the collection.

Prada

Prada’s menswear showcase took place at the Fondazione Prada’s Deposito, a venue transformed into a towering scaffolding structure with art nouveau carpets.

This monumental setting matched the eclectic and instinctive approach that characterized the collection.

Raf Simons highlighted the “unconscious” nature of the designs, blending floral motifs, playful pajamas, and boyish sweaters with raw, primitive tailoring crafted from patchworked leather and faux fur.

These free-spirited looks built upon the themes of individuality and empowerment introduced in Prada’s previous womenswear collection.

Magliano

Luca Magliano transported the audience to Italy’s Adriatic coast, creating a beach-like setting in the underground venue.

However, this wasn’t a scene of serene summer sands but rather a windswept winter’s night by the sea.

With a moody soundtrack by Berlin-based Aase Nielsen, the collection evoked a cinematic narrative of hidden encounters and solitary wanderers. Magliano’s designs reflected a raw and poetic edge, staying true to the designer’s unique perspective.

Dolce & Gabbana

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce reaffirmed their expertise in red-carpet fashion with a cinematic presentation at their Metropol venue, a former cinema-turned-runway.

This season’s show, titled Paparazzi, transformed the space into a burgundy red carpet flanked by photographers.

Models strutted past the flashing cameras, embodying old-Hollywood glamour with pieces inspired by cinema’s golden age. Dolce & Gabbana’s legacy in outfitting Hollywood elites since the 1980s was unmistakably on display.

Emporio Armani

Giorgio Armani explored the theme of “seduction” in his latest Emporio Armani collection. Through a rich array of materials, including molten velvet, shimmering lurex knitwear, and patchworked brocades, Armani conveyed the allure of tactile fabrics.

These pieces invoked a sense of wanderlust, with elements designed for rugged exploration, such as faux furs, puffer jackets, and hiking accessories. The collection seamlessly balanced elegance with adventure.

Despite some absences, Milan Fashion Week Men’s has once again demonstrated its enduring appeal, offering a platform for creativity and innovation.

The event continues to set trends, ensuring its relevance in the global fashion scene.
