Renowned designer Philippe Starck continues to redefine the boundaries of modern hospitality, leaving his unmistakable mark on some of the world’s most captivating hotels.

Hotel Brach

A luxurious new destination has graced Madrid’s iconic Gran Vía. The recently opened Brach Hotel, part of the esteemed Evok Collection, unveiled its doors on December 16, occupying a prime location at number 20 of this renowned street.

The restoration of this historical building was masterfully undertaken by the acclaimed designer Philippe Starck. Blending nostalgia with modernity, Starck infused the design with Spanish elements inspired by the 1920s and 1930s while incorporating a distinctive French flair. The Brach Hotel is situated in the historic structure that once housed the Palacio de Masserano, where famed French writer Victor Hugo spent his childhood.

This exceptional establishment boasts 57 rooms, including four exclusive suites, each meticulously crafted to exude warmth and the charm of a private residence. Redefining luxury, the hotel emphasizes creating a welcoming and intimate atmosphere where guests can truly feel at home.

Hotel 9Confidentiel

Nestled on Rue du Roi de Sicile in Paris’s 4th arrondissement, the Hotel 9Confidentiel is an intimate five-star retreat designed by Philippe Starck. This boutique hotel is envisioned as a jewel box, offering 29 uniquely designed rooms and suites. Each room is named after an evocative female figure, such as Lucienne, Odette, or Jacqueline, inviting guests to let their imaginations wander.

Starck’s design achieves a delicate balance between neoclassical influences and contemporary aesthetics. Interiors feature soft wood tones, brushed stainless steel, rose copper, and wrought iron. Living murals by Ara Starck and sculptures by Yann Masseyeff add layers of artistry, while custom carpets, created by Starck’s agency and crafted by Pierre Frey, echo the soft pastels and symmetrical patterns inspired by Naples. To enhance the guest experience, the hotel offers in-room beauty and wellness treatments in collaboration with Codage, ensuring ultimate relaxation.
