Lightweight, high-performance and designed to fit your feet like a glove. Though still in limited production, brands like Adidas, On and Nike are already producing innovative sneakers with no laces, no seams and even 3D printing. Best of all, these are sustainable designs with zero waste and low C02 emissions.

Some call it the shoe that doesn’t exist because it molds perfectly to the foot thanks to its mesh structure, which also provides 360º airflow. The Climacool24 represents a significant leap in material innovation, design and comfort because it was created using additive manufacturing and the most advanced 3D printing technology. The model features Adidas‘ signature trio of side stripes. It is a unisex foot model, created from the tests conducted on both men and women.

On introduced LightSpray™, a revolutionary technology, during the Paris Olympics. Now it is used in an ultra-limited edition of the Cloudboom Strike LS shoe. What is LightSpray? It’s a technology that creates ultra-light shoes without laces or seams because it creates the upper of the shoe by spraying in a single step. The result is ultra-light footwear that optimizes athletic performance. Another advantage of the spray process is that it significantly reduces waste and emits 75% less carbon than other running shoe uppers made by On.

Nike Air Max 1000

The Air Max 1000 are Nike’s first 3D printed shoes. Manufactured in conjunction with Zellerfeld, a footwear platform dedicated to exceptional 3D designs for well-known brands. The model has no laces and is a single custom-made piece, precision manufactured in a process that reduces waste. Like the Adidas one, it does not yet have a production date for mass sale.
