Art Basel Miami Beach is preparing to host the largest edition yet of its Art Basel Shop, an innovative concept store celebrating artists and offering exclusive items that reflect the essence of the iconic art fair.
Taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) from December 4 to 8, 2024, the shop coincides with Art Basel Miami Beach, whose Global Lead Partner is UBS.
Spanning over 2,000 square feet, the store will feature an extensive array of products, including exclusive pieces from the AB by Art Basel and AB by Artist collections, alongside limited-edition items created in partnership with some of the most compelling brands and artists of today.
Curated by Parisian creative director Sarah Andelman, the shop aims to deepen the audience’s connection to contemporary art. This year’s iteration will occupy three prime locations within the MBCC—the West Lobby, Grand Ballroom, and East Lobby—ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility.
Importantly, the Art Basel Shop will be open to the general public without requiring admission to the main fair, inviting everyone to explore its offerings. Designed as an integral part of the Art Basel Miami Beach experience, the shop provides visitors with additional ways to engage with Modern and contemporary art.
A standout feature of the 2024 edition is a collaboration with Brazilian artist Paulo Nimer Pjota, who has created a capsule collection for the AB by Artist Line. Renowned for his vibrant, poetic works that blend historical, pop-cultural, and everyday imagery, Pjota has developed a range of items including tie-dye T-shirts, tote bags, hats, and notebooks adorned with motifs of hybrid, mystical figures.
Pjota will also host a signing event at the shop on December 5. This partnership exemplifies the shop’s mission to merge artistic expression with everyday products, making contemporary art more accessible and wearable.
The Art Basel Shop will also launch the AB by Art Basel Heritage line, paying homage to the fair’s history with a playful twist. Drawing from the 1994 Art Basel catalog, the collection reimagines the Art Basel logo to spell “Party,” capturing Miami Beach’s vibrant energy.
Products in this line include tote bags, clothing, beach towels, playing cards, and even golf balls, many of which are available in bright hues inspired by the Miami aesthetic, such as pink and mint green. This new collection celebrates both the legacy of Art Basel and the distinctive cultural flair of its Miami Beach edition.
Other highlights include collaborations with notable artists and brands. British artists Kaye Donachie and Sola Olulode have hand-painted Christmas ornaments, while digital artist Tyler Hobbs has contributed an exclusive poster series. Additionally, Italian artist Paola Pivi has designed a limited-edition line of sunglasses.
The third edition of the Art Basel Shop will also feature a series of interactive events, such as book signings and artist meet-and-greets, allowing visitors to connect directly with creators and gain deeper insights into their work.
