Under the creative direction of acclaimed Icelandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, the Sandbourne embodies the concept of “Sand Chic,” combining an elegant coastal aesthetic with the vibrancy of city life to create a peaceful escape for guests right in the heart of the city.

From the first moment guests arrive, the property’s focus on providing a serene and sensory-rich experience is apparent, with every detail crafted to engage and calm the senses.

Upon entering the bright and open lobby, guests are met with an inviting space that incorporates a palette of whites and earthy tones designed to inspire a sense of calm. The airy lobby is accented with natural materials, and a unique signature scent was specially created to set the atmosphere, effortlessly easing guests into “beach mode.”

Luxury meets coastal vibes

The Sandbourne offers a wide range of accommodations tailored to meet varying needs and preferences. The Classic King and Double rooms offer a cozy 330 square feet of space, as do the Deluxe rooms, which come with private balconies showcasing stunning city or ocean views.

Guests who desire more room can opt for the Executive King Ocean View rooms, providing a spacious 550 square feet along with private balconies for breathtaking ocean views.

At the pinnacle of luxury, the property includes two expansive suites, each covering 660 square feet and equipped with a separate bedroom, a living room, and a private balcony looking out over the vast Pacific Ocean.

A color palette of terracotta tones mixes seamlessly with statement decor pieces like modern accent chairs and geometric mirrors, striking the perfect balance between coastal tranquility and urban sophistication.

A stylish seaside oasis

One of the hotel’s standout features is its signature restaurant, Marelle, which has quickly become a favorite among food enthusiasts on L.A.’s Westside. Headed by Santa Monica-born Chef Raphael Lunetta, Marelle serves a seasonal menu that emphasizes California’s freshest ingredients, locally sourced to highlight the natural flavors of the region.

For those who prefer a more casual setting, the Lobby Bar offers an indoor option where guests can enjoy a variety of beverages. This cozy spot allows visitors to take in the beautifully designed lobby, relax, and people-watch as other guests arrive and depart, all within a serene setting that continues the hotel’s luxurious ambiance.

Beyond its stylish interiors, the Sandbourne provides a range of outdoor amenities. Its single heated pool offers a scenic ocean view and is complemented by a full food and drink service from the Sunset Lounge & Pool, where guests can unwind on comfortable loungers or enjoy private cabanas.

For beach enthusiasts, the Sandbourne has an onsite gear lending station that provides beach essentials such as chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards—all included with the stay.
