The exclusive launch of the Louis Vuitton new tableware collection took place at a glamorous gala fundraiser held at the historic Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th-century French palace known for its grandeur. The event, benefiting the International Friends of Vaux-le-Vicomte, marked the debut of the brand’s “Art of Dining” collection, a stunning set of porcelain, silverware, and hand-blown glass that seamlessly blends modern design with the rich heritage of Louis Vuitton.

Hosted by Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari, the event was attended by an array of high-profile guests, including renowned American architect Peter Marino, film producer Christine Schwarzman, and Comtesse Patrice de Vogüé, whose family owns the opulent château located southeast of Paris. The gala was a fitting venue to unveil the luxurious collection, with its long, candlelit tables adorned with seasonal floral arrangements that created an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication.

The Art of Dining

Guests were treated to a fine dining experience served on the new Louis Vuitton dinnerware, which features the brand’s iconic Monogram flowers delicately printed on fine porcelain. The evening’s meal was a visual feast, with details such as cube-shaped bread rolls placed on intricately designed side plates, and the main course of turbot and fall vegetables served with gold-accented forks. Each element reflected the artistry and craftsmanship that defines the new collection.

The “Art of Dining” collection includes two complete sets of tableware: Constellation and Splendor. The Constellation collection, made of Limoges porcelain, consists of 13 pieces, including plates, bowls, and serving dishes.

Its design features pointillist patterns that echo elements of Louis Vuitton’s signature Monogram, creating a refined yet modern look. The Splendor collection spans 17 pieces and creatively incorporates the letters L and V in a playful, sophisticated design. Both collections were designed to be versatile, suitable for everyday use or more formal occasions.

Timeless elegance

In addition to the porcelain sets, Louis Vuitton also introduced its Rivet cutlery line, which consists of 14 pieces crafted from stainless steel. The tubular design of the cutlery is inspired by the nails used in the brand’s iconic trunks, and the silver-plated Rivet Épi range showcases handles engraved with the famous wavy Épi motif seen on the brand’s leather handbags. This design is said to evoke the image of wheat fields rippling in the sun, adding a poetic touch to the collection.

The glassware range, which includes decanters and carafes, is equally exquisite. The Murano glass pieces come in a variety of colors, further enhancing the collection’s luxurious feel. Each piece has been designed to complement the overall aesthetic of the collection, bringing a harmonious balance to any dining setting.

This launch is significant for Louis Vuitton, marking its first foray into a permanent tableware line after experimenting with seasonal collections for its cafés and restaurants. The Constellation and Rivet collections will be available in select boutiques starting October 31, while the Splendor and Rivet Épi collections will arrive on November 14. The debut of this exquisite collection signals a new chapter for the luxury brand, expanding its influence from fashion and accessories into the art of fine dining.
