Spearheaded by Roger Federer, the Laver Cup 2024 gathers players who typically compete against each other throughout the year. The tournament is back with an exciting lineup that tennis fans won’t want to miss. Carlos Alcaraz is set to make his Laver Cup debut, joining players like Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev.

The Uber Arena in Berlin will be the venue where Team Europe seeks to reclaim the title from Team World, who have triumphed for the last three years.

Competition format

The tournament will take place over three days, from September 20 to 22, with thrilling matchups scheduled each day. Each team will consist of six players, and every player must compete in at least one singles match during the first two days. However, no player is allowed to play more than two singles matches throughout the tournament.

In the doubles matches, at least four players from each team must participate, and no pair can repeat until the decisive match, should it come down to that. The scoring system awards one point for victories on Friday, two points for wins on Saturday, and three points for Sunday’s matches. The first team to reach 13 points will be crowned the winner. All matches will be played in a best-of-three format, with the third set being a 10-point super tiebreaker.

If a team secures victory after the first match on Sunday, an exhibition doubles match will follow the trophy presentation. In the event of a tie, a deciding doubles match played as a single set will determine the champion.

Schedule and timing

Each day will feature two sessions of play: a daytime session with two matches and an evening session with two more. On Friday and Saturday, the action starts at 1:00 p.m. local time with two singles matches, followed by the evening session beginning at 7:00 p.m., featuring another singles match and a doubles match.

Team Europe: Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Grigor Dimitrov. Captain: Björn Borg.

Venue and surface
