In an unexpected move, Giorgio Armani has announced that he will be presenting his Spring 2025 collection for his namesake brand in New York, instead of Milan, its traditional platform.
Giorgio Armani’s next fashion show is scheduled for October 17th, coinciding with the inauguration of the designer’s brand new building on Madison Avenue in New York.
This completely redesigned complex will house residential units, an Armani/Ristorante, and the new Giorgio Armani and Armani/Casa boutiques.
All this new agenda means that Armani’s fashion show will not be part of the Milan Fashion Week calendar, which runs from September 17th to 23rd, nor will it be integrated into New York Fashion Week, which runs from the 6th to the 11th of the same month. The designer’s Fall 2025 collection will return to Milan in February, as usual.
“Practical and aware, the designer has decided to concentrate the celebration of this important opening and his return to New York, after 11 years, in a single event,” announced the Armani company in a statement.
The fashion show is expected to be followed by a party that is sure to bring together a large number of the designer’s longtime friends.
This project consolidates Armani’s close ties to New York City and marks his return to the Big Apple. In 2013, Armani had already held one of his “One Night Only” events in the city.
Armani himself has described the opening of the Madison Avenue complex as “a personal milestone because it crystallizes my vision of style in the city that was perhaps the first to truly embrace it.”
During his last visit to New York, then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared October 24, the day of the “One Night Only” event, as Giorgio Armani Day. This honor recognized Armani’s long relationship with the city, including his contribution to the local economy and his support for public schools.
As reported at the time, the event was held at the SuperPier at Hudson River Park and attracted around 700 guests, including friends, family, loyal Armani customers, editors and high-caliber celebrities, including Glenn Close, Jeremy Irons, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lauren Hutton and Renée Zellweger.
