The 34-year-old Mexican driver has inked a contract extension that will keep him racing alongside Max Verstappen until the end of the 2026 season. This move throws cold water on the aspirations of several drivers who harbored hopes of joining the dominant F1 force.
Red Bull has established itself as a formidable force in recent years, leading both the driver and constructor championships in 2024, even with intensifying competition.
“Confirming our line-up for 2025 is crucial at this stage,” declared Red Bull team principal Christian Horner on the eve of the Canadian Grand Prix. “Continuity and stability are key for the team’s success. Checo and Max have formed a potent and reliable partnership, which secured our first-ever one-two championship finish last year.”
Perez’s contribution to Red Bull’s success story is undeniable. He has secured five of his six career victories with the team and played a pivotal role in their consecutive Constructors’ Championship wins in 2022 and 2023.

While the likelihood of Perez securing a 2025 contract had grown in recent weeks, the news of a two-year extension still carries a hint of surprise.
